16,776 signatures by April 1… piece of cake!

Life supporters in South Dakota have until April 1 to collect 16,776 signatures to add an initiated measure to the November 4 general election ballot. This initiated measure will stop the practice of abortion being used as a means of birth control in South Dakota. 16,776 signatures… piece of cake! In the next few Sundays I anticipate getting a thousand from our congregation alone.

Though abortion is clearly a societal issue for which God says he'll hold us corporately accountable, individuals can't escape the reality of personal culpability with regard to the bloodguilt issue. Not voting is voting. Not signing is the same as saying "No, let the killing continue." Just as God knows very personally each baby aborted, he knows very personally who is sitting back and letting this happen. SO, signing this petition to stop the killing is a spiritual statement. That's why these things are being talked about in the pulpit.
