Ideology, not the economy, results in more abortions

It was Ben Franklin who said, "In this world nothing is certain but death and taxes." We get more of both with Obama. The economy is in the tank, no secret there. And shifting the burden fully on to the backs of working American's is what "bailout" means. It is also interesting to take note how there are two death-related industries unaffected by the economic downturn. In fact, one is benefiting from it greatly right now.

Here's an article showing how students are now flocking to funeral related careers. If/when Obama's socialistic health care ambitions take hold, coverages will be limited for treating, for example, cancers. If you don't get well after the first/second treatment, no more help for you. The bottom line is more will die. But that is all part of the master plan in the inner circles of the eugenics-driven population control ideologues who've taken over the White House and both houses of Congress.

On the birth end of the life continuum, today the Argus Leader ran a story - Economy Blamed For More Abortions - on how hard times mean good times for those who profit from abortion.   Planned Parenthood is reporting an all-time high in January of the number of people seeking abortion - many of them "motivated by women's economic worries." The article led off with a story of a gal who has a "desired pregnancy - she'd been getting prenatal care - but they re-evaluated expenses and decided not to continue."

Too bad the Argus Leader didn't think to go interview any of the unselfish people of a generation ago who had absolutely nothing and yet raised large happy families. There are a million stories out there that would have given hope. Instead the story becomes yet another free false advertisement for those who profit from abortion who want the nation to believe the only hope for one with an unplanned pregnancy is to kill the child.

And there was no thought to interview someone from one of the hundreds of churches in South Dakota who have Lampstand Project stickers in their windows identifying them as safe places for women and children, born and unborn. Since November I've stopped counting the number of women we have helped with money, jobs, housing, cars, food, paying doctor bills, overwhelming them with baby clothes or whatever they need, and on and on. Most of them just need to have someone tell them they can make it and tangibly show them they aren't alone. You'd think the newspaper would find that newsworthy and beneficial to get the story out that the abortionist isn't their only salvation.

Good reporting would also tell the whole story about the choice of adoption and the number of families who'd welcome these children with open arms.

Good reporting would also have reported how abortion on demand has hurt the US economy to the tune of $35 trillion dollars in lost Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Everyone reading this needs to read that link. No kids, no future. Had we not had abortion on demand we'd have 40+ million more people right now earning money, paying taxes, and this inverted demographic winter that is upon us - of more old people, not enough young people to support them - could have been averted.  "In 1998 alone, the victims of Roe v. Wade would have contributed approximately $1.7 billion to Medicare and $7.4 billion to Social Security. These contributions could provide the average monthly benefit to over 785,000 retired workers for the entire year." Too bad Planned Parenthood is able to get free propaganda like this for their child sacrifice deceptions (let's sacrifice this one in hopes of a better life for the rest of us). The facts and stats prove this a grave deception.

I vote we take the $350 million tax payer dollars the government gives Planned Parenthood every year and establish maternity funds in every state.

Here's what would have made headlines nationwide… if the Argus Leader would have had the courage to do a story on how Planned Parenthood has never renounced their founders goals (M. Sanger) of eliminating the poor and dysgenic races through abortion and how bad economies help these eugenic groups accomplish those stated goals. I stopped getting the Argus Leader this year, it got so thin it was laughable. If they want to stay in business they need to do good journalism and include some of the above in stories they write in the future.

I noticed MSNBC ran a little story on the Windows of Life in Poland run by the Catholic Church. The church IS the answer to this problem, not abortionists. (I wish I knew a way to just drop the first minute of the clip here for you because the last half of the clip is a substantially off topic.)

Comments on Ideology, not the economy, results in more abortions »

Grace @ 12:24 pm

Hickey, maybe the Argus doesn't want to give you and your Lampstand Project any press because you threatened to sue them. When you threaten to sue somebody, they tend to hold grudges. You might want to keep that in mind when dealing with newspapers in the future. You may have cancelled your subscription, but CATG is still advertising in it. And you're also reading the online version, so technically, you are helping them bring in the money.
I'm going to go ahead and answer one of the questions you asked me awhile back. Yes, I do believe there should be some restrictions on abortion. I actually think that offering a women a chance to view a sonogram is a good idea. In all 50 states there are already restrictions on abortion, but that's not good enough for you and your kind. If the pro-choice community gives you an inch, you try to take a mile.
Here's an idea for you, instead of writing such hate-filled posts, why don't you write about the, "…number of women we have helped with money, jobs, housing, cars, food, paying doctor bills, overwhelming them with baby clothes or whatever they need, and on and on."?
For every negative post you write, why don't you write two uplifting posts? I realize it's been a very bad 6 months for your community, but geez, isn't there one positive thing happening in your life?
Maybe I have missed it, but do you have listings for the churches participating in the Lampstand Project? Make it a little easier for women to find help rather than making them drive around the state and looking for stickers.
The Argus piece wasn't planted by PP. As you can see, an Argus reporter didn't even write the story, the Argus had space to fill and they pulled it from the wires. And as you know, any article relating to abortion gets HUGE traffic online.
As for one of your other questions, no, I don't get paid to post comments about abortion, but that would be a sweet gig, so if know anyone who's willing to pay me for what I already do for free, let me know. I don't have 700+ comments on the Argus, who has that much free time? Besides you, of course. I'm pretty sure you have me mixed up with somebody else. I'd tell you who I am, but I'm afraid it might be anti-climatic for you. You'd be left scratching your head saying, "Who is that?".

Steve @ 12:58 pm

This article seemed important - http://www.usatoday.com/news/religion/2009-03-29-churches-helping_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

I believe it to be a crime against humanity for a group like Planned Parenthood to take money from a woman who wants to keep, but can't afford to keep her baby - and not point that woman to places that exist in her community to really help her. These people are lower on the scum scale than the execs who take million dollar bonuses.

Do you want to hear a good story in the midst of our bad economy? We are having a blast giving stuff away. Giving at Church at the Gate was up 4% last year despite the downturn in the economy and I haven't preached on giving in three years. Right now on average (in the first quarter of this year) we have seen $3000 more in the offering plate each week than is needed to "pay the bills" of the church. Why are we blessed? A few reasons - one being we were willing to stick our necks out for the least of these, the unborn. And, because God knows we are seeking to be a blessing and that we love to give it all away- and people know it too.

People drop by privately to see me and hand me $50, $600 cash, $1000 and $4000 dollar checks and tell me they want it to go to people who are struggling. I heard a few days ago a guy came by with a couple huge hams from Morrell, stuck them in one of our freezers and left word for me find somebody who was hungry. This is happening multiple times a week right now.

A couple weeks back when it snowed on a Sunday morning I mentioned to the church about a gal I know who cried that morning because she was hoping winter was over as they only have a space heater right now and they are all sleeping in one room of their home near Sioux Falls because they can't afford to fill the propane tank again. After church people made a beeline to me to meet that need. One fellow shook my hand with eight hundred dollars rolled up in his hand and told me to buy buy her propane. I could tell ten stories just like that from the last two months alone.

On Friday I mentioned to a staff member we need to get a car for a single mom with a new baby. That was at about noon. By 3 o'clock there was a free car in the parking lot for the gal.

So, you can listen to the Planned Parenthood people - and only report what they say- or you can get in the flow of what God is doing every day in communities like ours that are still full of people of faith who have a heart to be a tangible help women and children. It is a lie from hell that Planned Parenthood is there for these women. Shame on the Argus for perpetuating this lie.

Steve @ 1:14 pm

Grace - you're back. I don't remember threatening to sue the Argus? Ever. In fact I didn't and wouldn't have. Maybe I am getting several of your various deceptive alias' mixed up but you walk in substantial confusion yourself about me.

I know you are chompin at the bit to get the list of Lampstand churches. Those will be online here at some point. The real story there is this thing is organizationally beyond what I can handle so thus the disorganization. That will change.

You have put your finger on a frustration of mine and that is how to devote a blog to the greatest evil in American society and keep it positive. This thing is dark, full of deception and long over due for exposure. Would you have wished the German pastors in the 30's keep smiling and staying positive with regard to what was unraveling in that nation? I'd guess there are many who wish I'd lighten up and give the abortion industry a free pass.

You can call it hate, but this remains South Dakota's most loving blog. When I'm interviewed by the media, they never print the good things we are doing to help women and children - they want to continue to perpetuate the myth that pro-life people are only against stuff. Why can't they even print the word PRO?? That word defines us by what we are for not what we are against.

Grace @ 2:28 pm

Hickey, looks like you took my advice. Those are great stories, thanks for sharing.
Even pro-choicers want women to keep their babies if they want them. But just as you can't force a women to have an abortion, you can't force her to carry a pregnancy to term.
And yes you did threaten to sue the Argus. You've got to remember, SF is a small town and people talk. To jog your memory, it was the first Sunday in November. You thought an ad was illegal the Sunday edition before the election.

Steve @ 3:06 pm

Don't flatter yourself Grace I wasn't taking your advice. I was typing my comment while yours came in. Every time I "boast" about the good things we are doing I get slammed by your friends for applauding myself. So I'm careful to celebrate the good we do. Even so, for whatever reason I felt like saying what I said here knowing full well it'll be misconstrued.

Thanks for jogging my memory but again you operate in misinformation. I never threatened to sue anyone. You are referring to a phone call I made to the Argus Leader advertising department inquiring who paid for an ad that was obviously a political ad - they declined to tell me and I told them it's illegal to run political ads that have no disclaimer - "PAID FOR BY…" I probably reminded them of their responsibility to follow South Dakota election law but certainly I didn't threaten to sue them. Geez.

You illustrate how tied in the media is with you and your pro-abortion friends - that a phone call gets immediately relayed to you - hmm. But of course the facts got exaggeraged big time.

Enough from you. I knew it when I reopened the door to you the incoming negativity would quickly darken the room. Your last little barrage of nasty follow up comments here are getting deleted. And you lecture me on being positive? You are nasty and creeping me out in how you stalk me. Yes the media does call me. No I don't blog on it everytime they do. FYI - I don't take your suggestions about how I manage my time, prioritize tasks or regarding steps for the Lampstand Project.  Butt out.

Steve @ 4:36 pm

Grace is unloading on me folks. I've now deleted five comments since the last one of hers I posted. She tells me she's not seeing anything in her Lutheran Church on the Lampstand Project and therefore I'm lying about having churches. Sorry about that Grace, ask your pastor why your church isn't a Lampstand Church.

Mostly I resent you calling me a liar. You don't realize the realm I operate in - I know that if I even tell a tiny white lie or stretch the truth in any way the favor of God lifts off my life and all we are doing and I'd have no integrity with anything I'd say from the pulpit. So rest assured I'm not jeopardizing any of that to lie about some illegal ad - which by the way was far over the $1000 cost required for the disclaimer.

Look in the mirror when it comes to lying -seems to me you started posting as a nice sweet undecided voter who was thinking to visit our church - smearing me with flattery telling me you view me as a man of God. Then you reappeared as a witch and under a variety of other deceptions -you are indeed a piece of work. The truth is not in you.

Grace @ 5:30 pm

How do you know how much the ad cost? Do you have a part-time gig at the Argus?
I did ask my pastor about the LP. He said he didn't agree with your tactics and you tended to be on the "extreme" side. Then I asked a priest why his parish wasn't an LP, he said he doesn't work with the extreme pro-life community because they tend to be too emotional.
I guess I got my answer.

Steve @ 5:51 pm

I know how much ads cost because I've been buying print ads for twenty years - of all sizes. I know what the Argus charges for the non-profit rate and the political rate and the regular rates.

My tactics? Emotional? Extreme?

These guys are without excuse - if they don't like what I'm doing, what are they doing?

But I'm glad you asked the pastor why he's not willing to identify his church as a safe place for women and children to come.

NOTICE… this post is about abortion and the economy and I regret that I let the comment stream get hijacked. The point is it is a crime against humanity to take money from women to kill children they want and not point them in directions that would truly be of help to them.

Steve @ 7:14 am

Grace, I'm expecting to see you post a comment soon over at Dakota Women for the smear piece they put up today on Leslee (and naming me). If you don't you'll reveal your duplicity, after all, you have gone out of your way to tell me I'm way out of line "smearing" people. Why is it okay for them to blog away at those they disagree with and taboo for me?
