Dave Volk: It's "pro-life" to kill human embryos
Here are the reports from KSFY last night. Dave Volk of "South Dakotans for Lifesavingtaking Cures" wants us to ignore the fact that embryos mutate, he wants us to ignore the enormous ethical issues, he wants to open up a massive loophole in the best law in the nation prohibiting cloning… all for what? Cures? Again, embryonic stem cells produce no cures, they produce children.
And we are sorry about Dave's cancer and his parents dying (my parents are dead too Dave, got a brother with MS, blind, immediate family in wheelchairs, Parkinson's, breast cancer… do you want me to go on?).
It needs to be said until we all wake up to this that these are the same people behind SD for (Un)Healthy Families - and I love hearing Dave as the latest mouthpiece of Nathan Peterson/Steve Hildebrand tells us AGAIN that government needs to stay out of these matters. These are the same people support every government intrusion of Obamacare. I'll shut up and let you watch it if you missed it (had trouble inserting videos, links are above if the videos don't appear)…

Chris Hupke of the SD Family Policy Council isn't alone in opposing Dave Volk and Co. This one brings every pro-life group in the state together in a refreshing way. Anyone want to guess where the Catholics come down on this? You can bet we'll be hearing from them shortly. And, Volk won't have the science community in his camp either. The American Cancer Society doesn't support embryonic stem cell experimentation or grant funds to organizations that use embryonic stem cells. More on that later. Embryonic stem cell experimentation is an exercise in futility - it doesn't work, and it ends human life.
KSFY still has a flash poll up on their home page on this issue. Not yet seeing the "wellspring of enthusiasm" for this that Volk tells us exists. (These were the results as of 8:30 this morning.
