Poll results: Palin is pretty smart
Results are in from my poll - Should Sarah Palin grant media interviews on her book tour. If you missed my earlier post which prompted the poll, you can check that out here. Admittedly I didn't give any answer options except "other" for those who really don't like her. We already know they either want her to go away or they amazingly think more media scrutiny is just what is needed to really show the public she's whatever they think she is. My poll options, as intended, did seem to weed out those folks and give us a more accurate read on what the rest of us think about her decision to avoid local media.
My wife is reading Palin's book right now and said to me the other night - she's a lot smarter than I am. Before you question my wife's IQ I'll just point out she didn't stop at her Masters in Education from KU and has taught history for years. She'll put you on the mat in a history contest and a couple other subjects. Back when I was in seminary she won an extended game of Bible trivia in a living room full of Ph.D'd internationally renowned Old and New Testament scholars. All that to say, her comment on Palin's intelligence struck me as interesting considering the media only tells us she's pretty and dumb. The fact that she's avoiding local media tells me she's pretty smart.
The poll results are as follows: only 25% think Palin SHOULD DO local media interviews. 68% think she made a good decision to take a pass on local media. 7% checked "other" and left no comment.

Since many of you are starting to prepare for the big Thanksgiving feast tomorrow I thought to leave you with this line from the Killa from Wasilla's book. She writes about how much she loves meat, pork chops, thick bacon burgers and steak…."But I especially love moose and caribou. I always remind people from outside our state that there's plenty of room for all Alaska's animals - right next to the mashed potatoes."
So she's smart and she has good taste. And to think America voted in a guy who eats arugula and was dumb enough to brag about it in Iowa.

Didn't she have a ghostwriter?

…but not smart enough to come up with an original joke. I prefer my turkey on my plate, not in my bedside reading… or in the White House.
And what's wrong with arugula? Lots of Iowans grow it, sell it, and eat it.

Happy Thanksgiving to the Heidelbergers!

I'll believe she's smart when she's able to take on mental giants like Katie Couric and Joe Biden and come out ahead.
