94.85% of the two plus million pro-abortion campaign dollars came from outside South Dakota!
The SD campaign financial disclosure statements are now online and they are very very telling. The South Dakota Campaign for UNHealthy Families (combined July and October reports) show the following:
Total contributions received: $2,007,328.01
In-state (SD) donations: $103,345** or 5.148%
Out of state donations: $1,903,983.01 or 94.85% from out of state donors!!!
**$60,000 of the in-state $103,345 was given by one Rapid City donor (Tom and Sharon Warner)
Could it be more clear whose values are being forced on the South Dakota electorate? Planned Parenthood can't find in-state doctors to do abortions so they fly a couple abortionists in from Minneapolis once a week. They can't find in-state volunteers so they team up with the ACLU to pay and bus college students from other states to come in and canvass SD neighborhoods. They can't find in-state staff to run their campaign and they are now shipping in voters illegally which is VOTER FRAUD. There is nothing SOUTH DAKOTA about the South Dakota Campaign for UNHealthy Families.
Contrast the above numbers with what VoteYesForLife.com reports (combined July and October reports);
Total contributions received: $772,961.31
In-state (SD) donations: $477,144.20 or 62%
Out of state donations: $295,817 or 38%
VoteYes is operating on far less than half the dollars as UNHealthy Families. But they've raised 62% in-state.
In 2006, the Campaign for UNHealthy Families had approximately $600,000 in mystery donations from out of state groups. But all we hear about is how horrible it is that Roger Hunt and Promising Future legally refuses to reveal the name of the South Dakotan who gave the $750,000 donation that legally went to Vote Yes.
It's time UNHealthy Families start naming their donors. So far in 2008, these "groups" gave $1,476,701 to UNHealthy Families. If they are not going to reveal the donors that gave to these groups they need to shut up about Roger Hunt.
Friends of America Votes (Washington DC) $100,000
SEIU (Washington DC) $50,000
American Civil Liberties Union (New York) $50,000
CREDO Victory Fund (San Francisco) $26,000
NYS NARAL Foundation (New York) $30,000
Planned Parenthood Federation (New York) $206,500
Planned Parenthood MN ND SD (St. Paul) $875,150
Planned Parenthood of MN Action Fund (Minneapolis) $68,353
Planned Parenthood Western Region (Salt Lake City) $9900
SD Mainstream Coalition (Sioux Falls) $3200
SD NARAL Educational Fund (Sioux Falls) $10,000
Feminist Majority Foundation (Beverly Hills) $6830
Priority South Dakota (Sioux Falls) 5,798
Vote No on 11 PAC (Beverly Hills) $28,870
SD Family Planning (Sioux Falls) $6100
TOTAL DOLLARS GIVEN BY WHO?? - $1,476,701

Um, Steve? You should check your math. It's a little off. Okay, it's a lot off. On the Healthy Families side, it's clear to an 8th grader with a calculator that ……………
Math is hard.
As a side note, if you felt the need to point out the Warner's $60,000 to Healthy Families to imply that only wealthy people give to Healthy Families, you should also note that Steve Kirby gave $50,000 to Vote Yes. Otherwise, you just look like a hack. And we wouldn't want that. Finally, I think the monetary geography issue pales in comparison to Vote Yes's over $10,000 in illegal donations, which is more than twice of what they have on hand. Stay tuned on that one, folks!
Steve @ 1:43 am
I corrected the percentage which I incorrectly calculated. It's late, you'll have to forgive me.
There's no story to tell on the Kirby donation. The point was not that wealthy people give. The point in mentioning the Warner gift is that this one gift is far over half the total of in-state gifts to UNHealthy Families.

I think SDans would be interested to know that $46,042.86 of VY's donations came directly from churches. And comparing Roger Hunt's Promising Futures to legit-functioning organizations (whether you like them or not, Steve) is an absurd stretch…even for you, Steve.
Steve @ 8:36 am
That girl, I'd love to hear why you think South Dakotans would be interested to know $46K came directly from churches.

That Girl -
How many people from out of state go to a South Dakota Church? (Not Many)! Steve's point still remains; South Dakotans are the ones supporting IM11.
You guys have made a big deal over IM 11 using South Dakotans to push their national agenda. When the proof comes out that it is the South Dakota Campaign for (Healthy?) (Families?) that is an out of state agenda being pushed on us.
Since you made a big deal about the Church Donations to support Life, how much of your campaign funds came from a Church? What about all of the (Pastors?) for Choice you guys like to tout?
I think I am going to update my name for your Campaign from South Dakota Campaign for (Healthy?) (Families?) to (South Dakota?) Campaign for (Healthy?) (Families?)

I find it funny that "That Girl" never seems to have a rebuttal to anyones responses. Blows in blows out.
I am also confused to the fact about donations from churches. I have a feeling of what I think is trying to be implied. I am sure that she is afraid to state that because there is no merit for her on that argument.
Thanks to SD Campaign for UnHealthy families for pressing an agenda on voters that isnt even supported within its own state financially. I commend you on sharing your blood money for your own cause.(Notice the support of other Planned Parenthoods) Being from the east coast im not surprised by New Yorks involvement in the shedding of innocent blood.
Stephanie @ 9:24 am
Warners I will pray for you. Kirbys THANK YOU!
Complete Faith @ 10:05 am
Funny thing about that girl, even over on Dakotawoman she often has no rebuttal. She seems to try her darnedest to hit the hornets nest with a rock, and then run away, letting all her other dakotawomanly friends clean up the mess.

I'm not obligated to sit here and reply to every comment that follows my own. Some of us have jobs that prevent us from stalking Voices Carry all day long. Playing Zealot Whack-a-Mole isn't really high on my list of priorities. Sorry to disappoint you all.
What I meant by my comment was this: whether most SDans identify as Christians or not, or attend church or not, many value the separation between church and state and prefer the church to stay out of public policy shaping. I know that's impossible for you all to wrap your heads around, but it's a reality.

That (Brainless) Girl:
What does killing children have to do with the government demanding that all citizens practice the same faith? Last time I checked, we have Jews, Muslims, Christians, etc… in our country. The United States has NO STATE RELIGION, so your moronic comment about separation between church and state is ridiculous, just like your quest to kill is.
Jared @ 5:46 pm
I love the insults that take place in order to skirt issues.
Also, my assumption was correct and I believe that your understanding of the separation of church and state is skewed and misunderstood. It is the right of the church to be the moral voice to our nation. The law was never created to silence the church it was created to not allow one church rule. I think you may want to go back a read the history of your country a little deeper and the original messages on the floor of the continental congress and from our founding fathers. You would be amazed how much "church" plays a role in this great countries history. Your desire to remove religion from this great nation will only be its demise and its destruction. I also find it curious that you speak for most sdan's. Very funny!

Vote yes proved to be the honest campaign today. They chose to disclose lemonade stand money, kids Sunday School offerings that showed up in baby bottles and lots of small cash donations that were untraceable to individuals. They didn't have to report any of this and we all know it. It could have gone in the petty cash box. But I see integrity and honesty.
Cory calls it "dirty money" - actually this is the cleanest money in the entire campaign on either side.
On the other side of the fence are 1.4 million in mystery money. Let's talk about dirty money, blood money. Wow. Anyone who has given to UNHealthy Families has blood on their hands. Anyone who taken a paycheck from them as well.
I love it that people think VY is broke. Pinheads. VY is running commercials statewide. Do you people not understand the donations continue coming in every day and that what is reported is only what came in before the pre-election reporting/ disclosure deadline. Duh. We'll see the rest in the year end report in February.
Angie @ 12:21 pm
Yeah, Steve….we totally believe that they got a $5,000 check from a lemonade stand.
Nikole @ 3:35 pm
Steve - I'm going to get you a No Pin-Heads floor mat from Bill O'Rielly.
That made me laugh!!
Steve @ 1:54 pm
Angie- I don't care what you believe. We can raise $2500 in a two hour youth car wash, $10,000 by passing the plate a second time in a service for this cause, and there were $50 and $100 dollar bills in those baby bottles, coins from Sunday School classes and multiply this by all the churches in the state committed to this issue and the amount of anonymous cash that comes in is substantial.
Interesting though that the anti-LIFE camp didn't report any cash at all. It's not because none came in, it's because none was reported.
