ACLU activates against South Dakota - Who's Who in the local ACLU chapter

Last month, the senior leaders of the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, NARAL held a press conference in Washington DC to announce that they were launching a "massive national campaign" to raise money to fight Initiated Measure 11 here in South Dakota. It's very revealing that the big guns are stepping in to stop IM11. They know they can't beat this in court and so their only hope is to keep it from getting there.

At that DC press conference the ALCU said they are involved here this time as they were in 2006. Nice that they admit this finally, though we knew were part of the dark underworld of this thing in 2006.

They like to refer to IM11 supporters as a small group of extremists. Small? Extreme? 44% of the good people of this state voted in 2006 for an abortion bill far more strict than the reasonable one going before voters this year. That number of people increases greatly when those who want rape and incest expectations are included. That's not a small group. Every time the local media talks about the small group of extremists, remind them there are over 200,000 of us. That number of people in a state this size wins elections.

Let's talk for a second about who is really "extreme"…

The ACLU leads the way in pressing a wicked agenda on the rest of the nation via lawsuits. They fight for unfiltered pornography on the internet in our public schools and libraries. They defend terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay. They support euthanasia. They fight to abolish all military and prison chaplaincy programs. You can thank them for fighting student-led prayer in the public schools, colleges and townhall meetings. They promote partial-birth abortion and any abortion at any time up to delivery. They lead the way in trying to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance and efforts to remove references to God from monuments and plaques of the Ten Commandments at city, county and state public buildings, courtrooms and schools across America. They push the homosexual agenda in public schools and homosexual marriage thru our judicial system. They fight criminal and civil laws against polygamy. They are fiercely intolerant toward Christianity in any form in any place.

These are the people the Bible talks about in Isaiah 5:20 - "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter."

Here's an interesting ALCU quote that illustrates how far these folks will go to push their ideology on the rest of us…

It is clear that we can no longer count on the Constitution.

This ALCU gem came forth on March 10, 2002 on the ACLU sponsored "National Day of Appreciation for Abortion Providers."

"We must change the climate overall from one where abortion providers are vilified and assaulted to one where they are honored and upheld as the heroes they are."

Curious as to who's who in the Dakota ACLU chapter? The ACLU of the Dakotas is having their annual meeting September 27 from 10:30-3:30 at the Labor Temple (101 S. Fairfax) here in Sioux Falls. They are giving their annual Champion of Liberty Award to Mary and Perry Patterson for their "decades of devotion." Executive Director Jennifer Ring will report on their activity this past year.

Deb Phillips of Whitewood is the current President. Mary Ann Bear Heels McCowan of Pierre, Huron Attorney John Keller, and retired Sioux Falls teacher John McIntyre, and Lisa Hicks of Sioux Falls are nominated to the board this year.

Current members include emeritus member Chas Jewitt of Vermillion, Barb-Himmel-Roberts of Sioux Falls, Beth Kelsey of Ree Heights, Rose Stenstrom of Mission, Mary Patterson of Sioux Falls and Rita Mayer of Spearfish.

Everybody in South Dakota should read this book.
