Ashley Judd's selective concern for savagery
This morning I was late to work, and late to post here, because I was chasing a stray tail-less tomcat around with my shotgun. He got away again. Maybe he'll be back when I get home tonight. Anyway, where was I? O yes…
Those in the real world got some laughs earlier in the week when movie star Ashley Judd took after Gov. Sarah Palin again - this time for Palin's support of an Alaskan conservation program in which wolves are shot from planes. Truthfully, my first thought was I would love to go on one of those hunts when we are in Alaska in a few months for our 20th anniversary (which was last year!). But, of course, Judd's point was that this was brutal savagery.
Michele Malkin says it best in her Townhall.com post today… Clown in Wolf Guardian's Clothing. If you take time to read it you'll see Palin's conservation program actually protects animals.
Fact is, the policy is intended to protect other animals — moose and caribou — from overpopulation of wolves. Alaskans rely on caribou and moose for food. Not all Americans care to live on environmentally correct starlet diets of tofu salad and Pinkberry yogurt.
…On a deadly serious note, Judd's selective concern for savagery is not lost on longtime observers of the activist entertainer's political forays. A militant, pro-choice feminist, Judd lashed out at the Republican ticket during the campaign: "[A] woman voting for McCain and Palin is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders." Yet, not a peep has been heard from Judd about the serial predators of Planned Parenthood who have been caught on tape urging young girls to cover up statutory rape to facilitate abortion procedures. And she won't be starring in any YouTube ads decrying grisly late-term abortion procedures. In a starlet's world, "senseless savagery" only applies to the poster pet of the month.
Jill Stanek shows us Judd generously donated "personal recipes" to a Planned Parenthood auction. Stanek said; "I'm sure the recipes were politically correct vegetarian. Judd is fine with hacking up baby humans, just not animals."
Since Judd gets a free pass for showing grusome bloody dead wolf pics, I thought I'd show you this. I about typed "Same difference." Yet that is hardly true. There is an enormous difference between a dead child and a dead wolf, unless you live in the fantasy world of Ashley Judd.

We should oppose the killing of born humans, unborn humans and animals.
We should respect the rights of all living beings.

Joe - we should respect the rights of all living beings. Agreed.
Obviously, I'm just fine with hunting for food and within the context of responsible wildlife conservation programs. I see all this as a central part of the biblical mandate in Genesis to rule (bring management to and steward well) the beasts of the field. In those same passages God has given us animals for food. It's hard to eat them unless you kill them. So no I don't think we should oppose the killing of animals for food or for the preservation of plentiful wildlife for years to come.
I heard a guy the other day say there were 3000 deer in his county and in winter months there is food for only 300. What's the solution there? Let them ALL starve and stumble away from their barren habitats into urban areas so our family members die in car-deer accidents. No, this is why hunting and conservation programs are important. Folks like Mrs. Judd have no idea the cruel world of the animal food chain - conservation programs like the one in Alaska insert MERCY not savagery into the equation. Just as God ordered us to do.
But, where is the mercy for the unborn? Mrs. Judd may have make up on her face but she has HUMAN blood on her hands. She can continue ad infinitum her adoptions-for-publicity's-sake and post youtube commercials every day of her life pleading for mercy for each species in the animal kingdom. However, it all falls far short of atoning for her leading role in the killing judicially innocent unborn human beings.
PS - What do the rest of you think - should I let the stray tailless tomcat live to take out a few more of my chickens and render lame a few more of my daughters other cats?

Take out the tomcat - save the human babies!
By the way, I am going to offend many with what I am about to say but oh well. Remember how Bob Barker was all about spaying and nudering your animals? Well, since it's ok to abort human babies, I thought maybe it would be ok for all of us to stop spaying our pets and if they get pregnant just start performing abortions on the puppies or kitties. What would the pro-aborts say to that? What's wrong with that? I mean c'mon… if it's good for humans it should be ok for animals, right?

Whoopie and Co. on THE VIEW can see no connection between killing wolves and killing children. These people are totally blind. Wow.
Yeah for Elizabeth Hasselbeck!!

I stole this comment from a string on Stanek's blog because I thought it was helpful…
Okay, I live in rural Alaska. About 250 miles NE of Fairbanks, Alaska to be exact; we DO have a wolf predator problem in our area. Also on some of the islands around Alaska wolves have been pleaced there and have over bred themselves. While I love wolves, we have a wolf/malamute mixed dog, I also know that a lot of us hunt and fish for our food because of the food prices in the bush of Alaska. Palin doesn't want to kill all of them but we need some help where they have overpopulated themselves. When wolves overpopluate themselves in the area we as people are highly in danger of them. The more wolves means less prey to them and to the people. The less prey means they're getting hungry and will come into the villages/towns here in the bush. This poses a very high danger of pets, livestock, children, adults, the elderly (well you get the point) of them becoming stalked and hurt by them. Ashley needs to come live in my comunity for 12 months and tell me that it would be mean to do this. Have her live off the land! I forgot to add that it is not a sport of killing the wolves. It will not be done on a daily basis. The pack reduction will be done by the Alaska Fish & Game under close watch by their superiors. They will be monitoring the packs and the problems with the packs in different regions of the state. One region may have a HUGE issue with them while others may not. You cannot just relocate some of the pack to another pack, the other pack will kill them. We've tried it before and it doesn't work. Alaska doens't have a low number of wolves like the lower 48 does.

I have a great solution for hunting that troublesome tomcat.
Make a lifesize cutout of a person that looks like Ashley Judd. Set her up by the chicken coop, surely the tomcat, being an intelligent animal, will recognize Ashley's face and realize that she is an animal lover and there to help. While the tomcat has his defenses down, be hiding near by with the shotgun. Blam!
I heard about the segment on The View, thanks for posting the video. Elizabeth Hasselbeck is right on!

I think you can get a cage from the humane society to catch the cat in. Don't know if a wild one would fall for that though.
