Biden and the Catholic vote, CHOICES have spiritual consequences

The count is now up to 55 in terms of Catholic bishops who have come out with statements denouncing Joe Biden. Some are saying Joe Biden cost Obama the Catholic vote. Let's hope. As I noted last night, casting a vote for a pro-choice politician is to become complicit in the sin of the shedding of judicially innocent blood. Pastors and priests who make comments like that aren't telling people how to vote as much as they are telling people how to remain in God's good graces.

What we are seeing is religious leaders holding their church membership accountable. We can't continue in the delusion that we can live however we want and still count on God's blessing in our lives. Religious leaders know they are accountable to God to point the way to LIFE. Those who support the Campaign for UNHealthy Families in South Dakota need to know they are making CHOICES that come with grave spiritual consequences. It is an act of love to say something to them.

Thank God for Father Frank Pavone and other Catholic leaders who spent the last three days visiting the offices of members of Congress, challenging them to admit what abortion is. How hard can that be? - admitting what abortion is - we know it's above Obama's pay grade. Pavone says,

We’ve been visiting Congressional offices, bringing diagrams of the procedure and quotes of abortionists, and then have asked, ‘Is this what you mean when you say abortion?’ … The last thing that abortion supporters want to talk about is abortion - But this campaign puts the words of the abortionists before the public, so that those who vote in favor of abortion can no longer hide from its violent reality.

This is from a press release…

Fr. Pavone, joined by Priests for Life’s Director of African American Outreach Dr. Alveda King, Director of Hispanic Outreach Fr. Victor Salomon, Director of Missionary Outreach James Pinto, and Pastoral Associates Frs. Peter West and Denis Wilde, visited Capitol Hill offices this week presenting graphic diagrams and detailed descriptions of abortion procedures to members of the House and Senate. Dr. King explained that the purpose of the meetings was to clarify in the minds of leaders exactly what abortion is. “Just as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and William Wilburforce insisted on graphically demonstrating the plight of the oppressed in their days, we are compelled to follow their example. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., said, ‘America will not reject racism until America sees racism.’ Today we say, ‘America will not reject abortion until America sees abortion.’”
