UPDATED: Pro-lifer killed, shot multiple times outside MI school

OWOSSO, Michigan — State police at the Corunna post have confirmed a well-known pro-life activist was shot multiple times and killed this morning in front of Owosso High School…. A black car can be seen parked at the corner of North and Whitehaven streets, where a portable oxygen tank is lying in a front yard next to a large sign bearing the image of a baby and the word "Life."

UPDATED 11:22 AM - The victim has been named— Jim Pouillon. Fox is covering this, nothing yet on CNN or MSNBC - but then again it only happened five hours ago. Don't hold your breath for any immediate and strong denouncements from the pro-abort camp on this murder as we saw coming from the pro-life groups after Tiller's murder.

Jim was an elderly man who always had an oxygen tank connected to him (see photo below). Jim joined us on our Woodward Dream Cruise Tour for a few of our stops less than a month ago. The picture below shows him at the stop in Lansing - Michigan's capitol on August 13th. Jim was a selfless, soft-spoken, kind-hearted man. All who knew him, knew this. Please pray for Jim's family.

UPDATED 12:58 CST - Troy Newman of Operation Rescue said:  “We are stunned by Jim’s murder. We extend our condolences to the family and share in their grief over his loss. His life was characterized by his love and concern of the vulnerable, and he will be greatly missed." 

At 2:30 today outside the U.S. Department of Justice, Troy Newman and the Rev. Patrick J. Mahoney of the Christian Defense Coalition, and other pro-life leaders will hold a press conference to discuss threats against the pro-life community. Newman says…  “We have received literally hundreds of death threats in the past three months. Our office has been vandalized three times. Just yesterday, the FBI was in our office and picked up a stack of threatening letters that we received. We denounce violence in the strongest terms. The bloodshed must stop both inside and outside of the abortion clinics.”

But this blog makes a good point… "The Flint News has published every violation of law Pouillon ever had, including tickets for seat belt violations, speeding and littering. Why is all this relevant? Is the Flint News trying out the “he brought this on himself” argument?"

UPDATED 2:52 PM CST - An additional thought related to the last sentence above regarding the media printing an exhaustive wrap sheet on the VICTIM of this crime—- that is really odd wouldn't you say? it is usually protocol to honor the dead and pick apart the gunman instead. But not here.

The NY Times is reporting this killing WAS related to Pouillon's pro-life views…

Prosecutors said the suspect, who is 33, targeted Mr. Pouillon because he disapproved of the victim’s protests in front of children at the school. “There was some displeasure with how open he was,” said Sara Edwards, the chief assistant prosecutor for Shiawassee County. “He tended to carry big signs with very graphic pictures of fetuses.”

Gotta love the first denouncement of the killing from the pro-abort camp.

Lori Lamerand, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood East Central Michigan, talked with Michigan media about the Friday morning shooting. We want to be very clear that we have no idea if this was related to his views, but Planned Parenthood would never condone any sort of violence against anyone, regardless of their views.

Except of course the VIOLENCE of dismembering living human beings that goes on inside every Planned Parenthood. Other than this denouncement, it's still completely silent in terms of pro-abort leaders commenting on the killing of this pro-lifer. And, no word yet on whether President Obortion will issue a statement as he did in the Tiller killing.
