Colorado personhood ads - must see
We in South Dakota are linked at the heart with Kristi Burton and the others fighting for the unborn in Colorado. Colorado's Personhood Amendment 48 simply states; "The term 'Person' or 'Persons' shall include any human from the time of fertilization". Note there are three additional ads linked at the conclusion of this ad entitled "Fire".

The Personhood Amendment as in the state of Colorado will be more effective than an act or bill regulating abortion. (in my opinion)…becuase it states that unborn through natural death have a right to life.
On the federal level, I believe currently the best option we have for Life is Ron Paul's Sanctity of Life Act. The Act declares that: (1) human life shall be deemed to exist from conception, without regard to race, sex, age, health, defect, or condition of dependency; and (2) the term "person" shall include all such human life. Recognizes that each state has authority to protect the lives of unborn children residing in the jurisdiction of that state.
It also amends the federal judicial code to remove Supreme Court and district court jurisdiction to review cases arising out of any statute, ordinance, rule, regulation, or practice, or any act interpreting such a measure, on the grounds that such measure: (1) protects the rights of human persons between conception and birth; or (2) prohibits, limits, or regulates the performance of abortions or the provision of public funds, facilities, personnel, or other assistance for abortions.

Are you willing to punish a woman with the death penalty or life in prison for terminating a pregnancy, whatever her circumstances? To lock up a woman so that she will bring a non-viable fetus to term? Do you want to ban the birth control pill and IUD, thereby causing more unwanted pregnancies? Would you like to see a ban on in vitro fertilization? If yes, then you need a serious reality check. If not, then you shouldn't support Amendment 48 — because those evils would be the real-life consequences granting fertilized eggs full legal rights. To kill or harm a fertilized egg would be a criminal offense under Colorado law, regardless of the circumstances. The fact is that Amendment 48 is deeply, profoundly anti-life.
Christian opponents of abortion are welcome to act on their own beliefs in their own lives. They have no right to force their religious views on the rest of us — just as Muslims have no right to force Christians to pray to Allah five times per day.

Diana - Sounds like you haven't heard of the scientific progress made in the last 35 years - in molecular biology and fetology, etc. It's not at all a religious question as to women human life begins. Science now tells us that a separate, unique living human being is the product of conception. Planned Parenthood challenges these fact in a recent case that was decided by the Eighth Circuit Court in St. Louis. The court ruled that Planned Parenthood was able to provide NO EVIDENCE contrary to the statement that a separate and unique living human being is the product of conception. It wasn't that they provided insufficient evidence. They were able to provide none. Therefore, since a human being is the product of conception, that human being has full rights as a person. Nobody is punishing women for terminating pregnancies. Quit with the false fears.
