So instead I negate your prayer to Jebus by reciting an incantation from a book I read once and now beleive that it is, in fact, the one true book of healing. My book is centuries old, written by men of faith, and spread throught the world on the wings of salvation. Since I beleive it is real, and others around me affirm this by memorizing passages to spew at non-believers, it will most assuredly nullify your alternate incantation.

I'd wager that DL will read the book of Chopin one thousands times over before he reads Job once.

I think we'll approach each others book with the same level of contempt. I said it before. I have no doubt as to whether Jesus was a real person whose words and messages influences millions of people. I also appreciate your concession that you feel you may need "fire" insurance, i.e., "I may repent on my deathbed." I pray that repentance for you will only lead to the death of your "old man" and that you will live many additional years knowing your True Savior before He calls you home.

DL - that last comment is so "lasterday." Christians don't bomb abortion clinics. There are a lot of people who are not Christian who hate the killing of innocents in the womb. Because they are not constrained by the Holy Spirit living in them, they can be tempted by the devil to fight murder with violence. Christians do not condone this violence, we condemn it along with the violence done to infants in the abortion clinic. Our weapons are much more powerful and our targets are not brick and mortar, nor flesh and blood. You will soon see for yourself the effects of these "weapons" of prayer and fasting, as God begins to challenge your heart and mind and you become a new creature in Christ.

I know the level of frustration many of us have after recent events in our states and nation. In spite of all that has happened, we must remember to be salt and light. I feel as though we need to remember we were all lost like many of the angry people posting here.
I certainly was much like DL, not believing in God or the devil, heaven or hell and living it out, knowing deep down I was missing something.
Let's remember what Jesus said in his most painful moment, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do" (Luke 23:34)
Could we pray for these folks in the midst of insults and accusations?
I want to encourage all who follow Jesus to walk according to the spirit and not to get caught up in the flesh.

The intensity of my fasting and prayers for your eternal souls will be given by the Holy Spirit. I am asking Him to make the intensity of my love for you and DL greater than the intensity of your anger and the mocking spirits which influence you.

I am counting on the Greater One to do a greater work. It is not my work but His and He will not be outdone. Jesus said "They will know your are Mine by the love you have for one another." I intend to make manifest His word toward you. A good question for you to answer would be why does this bother you so much?

Find something better to do with your time. Go out. Have a drink. Make some friends. Stop being so serious and live life the way it was intended. For the now. If you worry about when some stranger is going to knock on your door to call you "home", you'll never experience all of the wonderful things this world has to offer.
