John McCain cares about the country even if his campaign has to be suspended and even if the decision doesn't fare too well in the press. Country first.

“America this week faces an historic crisis in our financial system. We must pass legislation to address this crisis. If we do not, credit will dry up, with devastating consequences for our economy. People will no longer be able to buy homes and their life savings will be at stake. Businesses will not have enough money to pay their employees. If we do not act, ever corner of our country will be impacted. We cannot allow this to happen,” McCain said.

This is totally refreshing to see leadership like this at the top level. I'm sure Americans will see the clear difference here - we have a massive financial crisis and McCain knows it - this is an economic version of 9/11 and perhaps worse. I'm guessing Obama will put things on hold too - he's a follower.

If not, maybe Obama can debate himself Friday night, he certainly has enough conflicting views to fill the 90 minutes. Or, maybe he and Biden can continue to debate each other. McCain wants both parties to come together to solve this crisis. Remind me, has Obama EVER once worked in a bi-partisan way?
