Daschle appointment - a time to laugh, a time to cry
Had to smile at reading about the "What Not To Wear" lady talking smack about Tom Daschle's "comical" glasses.
Yet others these days are singing his high praises. Are you curious who those folks might be?
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, cheered the nomination today of former SD senator Tom Daschle to head the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She said she's confident that Daschle will back proposals protecting the reproductive health rights of women. …We are delighted by his nomination and look forward to working closely with Sen. Daschle on promoting and protecting the full range of women’s health care, including family planning and prevention services. We’ve worked closely with Sen. Daschle during his time in the U.S. Senate. Former Sen. Daschle has a strong record of standing up for women’s health and women’s rights and supporting commonsense policies that improve health outcomes for women.
Who cheers at the likelihood of more death for the innocent and helpless? Who is delighted that more women will be exploited? Answer: those who proft from it. I read yesterday 80% of post-abortive women in Spain suffer from depression. 40% have considered suicide. Rah, Rah, Rah - let's cheer! Daschle, Daschle he's our man. More and more babies in the garbage can! Daschle, Daschle… (go ahead, make up your own…) Let's cheer appointments that will result in more abortions!!!
Richards notes Daschle has worked closely with Planned Parenthood. That's the common denominator in ALL the abortion president's picks so far.
The other common denominator is the bait and switch on his promise of change. All his picks so far don't represent change. The abortion president has stacked his cabinet with all the old Clinton people - so much for change.
Laura Ingraham yesterday make me laugh because she was feeling sorry for Janet Reno, one of only two remaining Clinton-era people yet to be appointed a post in the "change" administration. Ingraham was empathizing out loud how left out Janet must be feeling because all the old gang except her are getting invited back.
So much fodder for the late night comedians. But, not one has told a Obama joke yet. That alone is funny to me. I guess I should be careful… the unborn aren't laughing about any of it.

I think one of the defining lines in this battle (especially this year) is the "political sway" of "evangelicals" in the country….they somehow have seen Obama and his support as being pro-life - while I agree with the argument that he is, in that he will "defend" life beyond the unborn…(whatever that means…as though other administrations don't)…
The issue is (I think you have said it before Steve)…Judicially sanctioned killing of the innocent unborn.
It's not the goal simply to reduce the number of abortions.
There is scriptural, spiritual, and prophetic implications of a nation that says it's OK to kill the unborn.
It's a concept that many (even self-proclaimed Christians) don't understand.
The same is with homosexuality. To say "I can't tell you what's wrong and what not to do"…is just as evil as doing it. To say to an abortion minded woman "I would never do so - but you go ahead" is condoning abortion, and those who condone it are just as wrong as those who perform it.
The concept is difficult to explain in human fleshly terms without the revelation of Christ.
It's not a reduction of abortions, but a change in heart of a nation to realize that it is totally wrong in all ways.
[In my opinion]I would rather they happen while the government abhor the practice, than the number be reduced while the government says it's OK. (and that's where much of the "evangelical Christian culture" has missed the point).
