Updated: Dead billionaire Queen of Mean set her sights on the little people in South Dakota

Looks like Leona Helmsley, the Queen of Mean, is still going after little people from her grave. Remember her, the billionairre tax-evader who famously told her housekeeper - "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes."  Remember, she died in 2007 and left her dog $12 million dollars, but NOTHING to her two grandchildren. Looks like her foundation just gave $200,000 to set up shop here in Sioux Falls.

Why? Let's see…. perhaps to fund Dave Volk, Nathan Peterson and Mitch Richter's efforts to lift the ban on experimenting on human embryos.  Any other guesses?

This is a screen shot from Helmsley's foundation website.

And look, they are hiring!

Wow. Does anyone actually believe that anyone at the foundation of the Queen of Mean has ANY genuine concern for the struggle of "rural people" here in South Dakota? It's painfully obvious what this is— Volk, Peterson, Richter and all their friend at Sanford Health channeled the ghost of the Queen of Mean to come haunt us here in South Dakota.

And look! They are already spending the money. This billboard is up at the corner of Cliff and Benson in Sioux Falls.

Actually, the billboard is about raising money, which will then get spent trying to lift the ban here on experimenting on human embryos. Catchy slogan, except for the little detail that there have been NO results, ever, anywhere with any kind of embryonic stem cell experimentation. Adult stem cells work. Embryo stem cells mutate.

UPDATED - It comes to my attention that her grandson, Walter Panzirer, lives in Sioux Falls and that her foundation has already donated $19 million to South Dakota. I guess I missed that little bit of news from last April. They are opening rural pharmacies and remote emergency care services in partnership with Avera. Walter was a cop in Mitchell and unsuccessfully ran in 2006 for the Davison County Sheriff.

Oh yes, here comes the ridicule - wait for it…

But a year from now, when all the facts are out, once again Pastor Steve will be proven right in his instincts (read Holy Spirit knowledge) of what kind of sewage is running under this issue of embryonic stem cell research and how they continually attempt to get their talons into South Dakota. Why SD you ask? One reason only - Denny Sanford's billions, and don't think he is not behind this as well. Denny gave $30 million to embryonic stem cell research in CA before he gave his "gift" to us.

Frankly, Denny, we don't need your filthy money - it is stained with the blood of infants and the poor. That money was made on the backs of those who struggled financially - you have profited by usery and then invested in the destruction of small humans. You are in direct violation of James 1:27 on all counts. No matter how many pastel-hued clouds you paint over your "gift" it still comes from evil and has evil intent.

Type 1 diabetes has ALREADY been successfully treated with ADULT stem cells over two years ago (April 2007) http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2007/04/10/diabetes-stem-cells.html?ref=rss - So we don't need your research facility for that. WHAT ARE YOU REALLY PLANNING TO DO THERE?

This sudden push for embryonic stem cell research legalization in South Dakota - an EXTREMELY PROLIFE state is no coincidence people, and I see T. Denny Sanford and his evil empire squarely behind it all IMHO.

Amy @ 1:40 pm

That is so bizarre that Walter got NO MONEY from her estate, so the trustees/board made donations in the state where he lives. Maybe he had input and so the $$ ended up with LIFE-affirming organizations. Compensation for him being cut out of her will. Maybe we should ask Walter what he thinks about this latest development. I sense "strange bedfellows" - as large amounts of money and politics always bring them.

I don't think all the facts are on the table here Steve. I happen to know Walt, he is a great guy and loves this state and his country! I don't know about the foundations efforts to work on embryos, what I do know is that Walt is a great guy and would work hard to support and protect the family! He is a great husband and father. I believe he will make sure the efforts in South Dakota will bless not curse! I wish Walt the best. He was the most unassuming guy. I was delighted to hear how he has been blessed and to be an instrument of blessings others!

Steve @ 11:45 pm

Stacey- the facts are not all on the table. It does appear that Helmsley money is fueling Michael J Fox's sudden interest in legalizing SD embryo experimentation. Walt's name was given to me just as an fyi, not suggesting he's pushing embryo experimentation. Call him and ask him to clarify.

I believe because of the large inheritance, for obvious reasons, Walt had to take the appropriate measures and move his family from Western South Dakota area to Eastern South Dakota. If I can find him, I will ask :) Walt if you read Steve's Blog I would love to visit with you about the foundation and funding priorities. I am still working at the Pregnancy Center in Rapid.

Stacey - it has been reported that Walt was not left an inheritance. I would also say that just because he is a family guy does not mean that his grandparents foundation is family friendly. If they have ANYTHING to do with MJ Fox, and they do, then they are anti-life, to the tune of $200,000. No one is saying that Walt is involved, in fact I am pretty sure he is not; however, the trustees may be throwing a bone in his direction, or an insult perhaps, but setting up this satellite office in SD. The questions still remains - Why South Dakota, and why now? It is full of alarms in the spirit.

stacey @ 1:33 pm

Hi Amy-Walt was left with an inheritance and I believe HE is why South Dakota has a branch and why so many great SD organizations like Childrens home etc got funding! Where is the article you refer to that says he didn't get anything? Walt is a great leader and strong in his convictions.
