Dear Judy Blume, I'll be keeping your fantasies away from my kids from now on

Dear Judy Blume,

The fact that you write children's books led me to believe that you would be a voice for children who have no voice. Wow, was I wrong. The other day I learned you are the centerpiece of a Mother's Day fundraising effort for Planned Parenthood. Really?  Did you really say in a fundraising letter sent out in your name on behalf of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund;

There is no organization that I know of that supports motherhood and all that it means more than Planned Parenthood. That's why I'm honoring moms everywhere with my gift to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund today.

Hello, Judy? I know you live the world of fiction but come on?!  A mom is one who sacrificially gives life to her children not one who selfishly kills her offspring so she can live the life she wants to live.

Apparently Judy is getting flak for her support of Planned Parenthood and rightly so. Cecile Richards had to send out a follow up letter encouraging pro-aborts to get behind her right now and send her a note of support. Here's the line in that letter that I find truly amazing…

Nothing - NOTHING - would make Judy happier than to know the backlash has resulted in more support for Planned Parenthood and the women they serve.

Wow Judy, if that is true, get a life. Nothing would make you happier than to support the dismembering of unborn children in their mother's wombs??? I encourage the rest of you to contact Judy and let her know how misguided she is and that you'll be keeping her books and her ideas away from your children and grandchildren in the future. Let her know that raising money for Planned Parenthood on Mother's Day is like raising money for Al Qaeda on the anniversary of September 11th.

ACTION: Contact Judy at Judy Blume, c/o Tashmoo Productions, 1841 Broadway, Suite 711A, New York, N.Y. 10023. You can also email her at JudyB@judyblume.com and leave a message on her public guestbook by going here.

I think Jill Stanek is right on this… "Cecile is also admitting PP has a growing stigma attached to it, which may give other celebrity PP supporters pause. Verrry interesting."  The respectability facade is crumbling.

Grace @ 7:51 pm

I just gave $50.00 in your name to the PP Action Fund.

Steve @ 8:29 pm

Hey everyone - Grace is all in a bunch today because I've been deleting her comments and threats - feels a bit like I'm swatting flies.

Grace - I got into prayer about your donation in my name and I wanted you to know that I took authority over it and it will be a barren seed in Planned Parenthood's garden and you may or may not know that the Scripture says the curse of it will come back to you. Maybe you aren't aware that such a donation is blood money and repentance on your part is advised.

Steve meet Judy Blume, one of the most censored authors in America.

The 1970's called. It wants Wifey and Forever back.

Steve @ 8:53 pm

Michael - I see you can read Wikipedia. I'm guessing you are implying I'm was unaware she has written controversial stuff. Swing and a miss.

Darn. I'll try again later.

i think that all of you are stupid. Judy Blume is an amazing author whose books set an example and gave comfort to many young girls. Saying that raising money for planned parent hood is like raising money for al qaeda on sept. 11 is the absolute craziest thing I've ever heard. I am catholic so i do understand the pro-life message but young girls are making the mistake of wrong place wrong time and you want them to have the child and have them grow up with no money and with less than others? i personally think Judy Blume is a wonderful person and im glad shes helping young girls. You all are crazy and selfish.
