Doubt in the US Senate about Tim Johnson's abilities

Since 2006 when Senator Tim Johnson lent his voice and influence (by leaving a voicemail encouraging South Dakotans to vote no on Referred Law 6 - the abortion ban) to those who advocate the shedding of innocent blood, I have known Senator Johnson would lose his voice and influence. God raises up kings and removes others who don't use their voice and influence for justice for most vulnerable. Like it or not, as you'll see below, this seems to be what has happened.  This just arrived in my inbox:

Johnson2.jpgAccording to recent articles in the Hill newspaper, Politico.com and the Wall Street Journal, Democratic leaders are discussing a major reshuffling of Senate committee chairmanships but passing over Senator Tim Johnson in appointing the next chairman of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee.

This shows what we suspected was behind the curtain all along - that Tim Johnson will not have any clout or influence in the new Senate.  They will count on his vote for their liberal agenda but they won't let him chair a committee. Fortunately his colleagues couldn't stick to the script and keep South Dakota voters in the dark for another week - they're too busy taking a premature victory lap and jostling for new committee chairmanships.

His party bosses gave him some pork projects to bring home to make him appear effective and help his reelection - but the truth is they're using him.

Even Democrat leaders recognize Tim Johnson is not part of the future in the US Senate and he's not part of what South Dakota's future requires either. South Dakota needs a Senator who will fight for our values and push our issues, not just be an automatic vote for the Majority agenda.

Vote for Joel Dykstra for US Senate!!

You nailed it right on the head! One other item I would add is that he voted against the "bail out" ONLY because he was up for re-election. Otherwise he would have voted for it. He votes with his party 95% of the time, regardless of what South Dakotans think.

The fact that he had 2nd seat on the banking committee tells you he was complicit in the banking fiasco and then he acts like he had no part of it.

Time for a new face in the Senate. Vote for Joel Dykstra.

Excellent Post, only if the word can get out to the mainstream voters before Tuesday.

STUNNING - Rapid City Journal refuses to endorse Johnson, says his brain bleed has damaged his ability to do a good job for South Dakota.
