Fewer teen abortions in states accepting abstinence funds

Center for Disease Control data shows that the states that accepted abstinence education funding saw greater reductions in teen abortions compared to states that didn't. If President Obortion truly wanted to reduce abortions he would not be so hellbent on defunding abstinence education programs. Obviously he cares nothing about reducing abortion. He lies.

Seventeen states have rejected abstinence education funds and now we know they are worse off for it. Abortions on "girls under 15 were 37.3 percent higher in states that rejected the monies."

"Overall, the teen abortion rate among girls 19 years old and younger for states which rejected abstinence only funding was 48.2% higher than in states which had accepted funding"

"While states rejecting the funding saw a 5.2 percent decrease in abortions, states accepting the funds experienced a much larger 20.5 percent decrease."

Call me when you can demonstrate a causal link, not just correlation.

If the only measure of the abstinence-only results you look at is abortion numbers, then congratulations on your 'success'.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: hormones beat shame every time. Kids are still going at it like little rabbits, and they're still getting pregnant and catching diseases. So go ahead and tell them condoms and pills are no good and that the 'morning after pill' is the same thing as murder. After all, if they don't have an abortion, you can claim victory.

Actually, the CDC reports that there are more teens NOT having sex than teens that are. There is study after study showing a causal link between the two and also many studies showing that teens who abstain do better in school, have higher incomes as adults and live generally happier.

Abstinence education is not about saying "NO." In fact, if you've ever been to an abstinence presentation, you'll notice it's about saying "YES." Yes to a healthier life without disease or premarital pregnancy; Yes to life goals; Yes to your future spouse. They may speak about the failure rate of condoms (15% in actual use) and birth control, but there is no shame or putting down.

Teens are bombarded every day by messages that tell them to have sex, why is it so controversial to want the best for our kids? Why do we have a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol, but not sex, which is just as dangerous if not more so. 40 years ago there were 2 STDS, now there literally hundreds.

Hormones don't have to beat our kids common sense, but we act like since they are going to do it, let's give them condoms and tell them to go ahead. Nevermind that there are STDs that are skin to skin contact, like HPV, which can cause cervical cancer and infertility, or Syphilis, the only STD that can actually kill you. No, that would be too easy. It's much to hard to actually expect something out of our teenagers.

If that was true, my wife and I would probably be the proud parents of six kids by now instead of one.
