Funny seeing you here

Yesterday my family ate breakfast at the Pancake House just prior to heading to the funeral home to "view" my mom. I decided to run to the restroom before we left and walked back by a table of ten people or so who stopped laughing and talking and started staring when I walked by. I looked up to see the entire crew from the Campaign for UNHealthy Families - they were all there - my favorite people, including Chris Cassidy who apparently didn't go home on Sunday. I think it was their victory breakfast for the staff or something. Their stunned expressions quickly turned to scorn and stupid grins. Curious to me is that when I was getting ready to face death I'd run into the purveyors of death. I thought from now on I'd start referring to them as the Campaign for Healthy Flies since they love death so much.

Here's a picture of their gathering yesterday. O wait, wrong pic. This pic is actually the staff at Auschwitz relaxing and having a great time. But, you get the idea. Same difference.

AC @ 10:08 am

Do not complain about each other, brothers, or you will be condemned. Look! The Judge is standing at the door!
James 5:9

Why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or you, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written,

“As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,
and every tongue shall confess [1] to God.”
So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.
Romans 14:10-13

Travis @ 11:48 am

AC -

Are you implying SDCHF is an organization of Christian Brothers and Sisters?

Tell me it isn’t so!

AC @ 12:19 pm

No, just trying to remind the good pastor of his job.
Isn't he supposed to 'walk the walk and talk the talk'?

I Heart Pancakes @ 12:49 pm

Stevie, Stevie, Stevie

I think you give yourself too much credit. No one even knew it was you until your little Von Trapp family exit scene at the door. We were just trying to figure out why this guy was creep-staring us down like the last jelly donut. Do you always assume that people you walk by are talking about/responding to you? Geez, you must be pretty important. I mean it's just crazy to assume that a table full of people at a restaurant would be enjoying each other's company…no, obviously they are more concerned with they guy walking by.

Did you get that picture out of the Benz? That's a nice humble vehicle by the way. Totally ridin' into Jerusalem on a donkey…

I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, you being the champion of civil rights for all that you are. But, um, Mercedes-Benz doesn't have the best reputation among Holocaust survivors…something about the company making millions of dollars profit from forced slave labor at various concentration camps, not to mention supplying many of the vehicles and other implements of destruction to the Nazis and being a willing political ally to the Reich…or was it they disrespected the memory of those lost to the Holocaust by exploiting the images for their own selfish political gain?

You’re gonna have to explain the Healthy Flies thing to me once more…not getting…Oh, wait. I get it now. Yeah that's really, really, really clever. Color me zinged.

Travis @ 1:07 pm

Yes he is supposed to walk the walk, and that is what he is doing when he stands for the unborn.

I cannot even imagine how anyone would imply that our Loving Lord and Savior Jesus would condone us ending the lives of children.

I think he would call for us to stand up for them and try to protect them some words are coming to me.

The King will answer and say to them, “Truly I say to you, (1M)to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” Mathew 25:40

Then He will answer them, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.” Mathew 25:45

Is Jesus wrong in what he said?

AC @ 1:45 pm

I don't have a problem with Pastor Hickey fighting for what he believes in. I do have a problem with the fact that he does it (at least her on his blog) very un-pastor-like.

Nikole @ 2:39 pm

AC - so how would you suggest that he do it? This is a battle. That may require calling a spade a spade. I attend Steve's church and have been to his home and call him a friend. I don't believe that he acts "un-pastor-like". He may not act like the typical pastor that you see today, sitting by and doing nothing. He fights for what he believes in. He fights for what God believes in and he does so with passion.

If you had any idea what Pastor Steve and his family have put up with throughout both of these elections I believe you may consider diffrently.

Remember, the Jesus who said to turn the other cheek is also the Jesus who threw the table in the temple. He is not this mild mannored, meek man who winked at sin.

Hey pancakes — Steve doesn't drive a Benz. May have been one of his relatives vehicles, but know it isn't Steve's. Riding in Jerusalem on a donkey — that's funny. First, Christ already did that and Steve doesn't claim to be the Messiah (unlike our president elect) and if you watched him get in his vehicle does that mean you were stalking?

Travis @ 2:44 pm

AC -

Calling Evil, Evil is an un-pastor like act? How so? I think Jesus was very confrontational against those that misled the people, wouldn't you say so?

Complete Faith @ 2:50 pm

AC, what is your definition of "pastor-like"?

Timothy Fountain @ 3:00 pm

I see. Steve is the issue. The way he says things rather than what he says. Let's see if we can figure out what kind of cars he's around. Let's hold up the perfect standard of Jesus and see if Steve falls short… somehow that invalidates his message (the rest of us can be as imperfect as we want).

When it comes to the practice of abortion, the only "defense" is this kind of distraction. Dont' show the result of an abortion because that's in poor taste. Don't show in utero life because that's manipulative. Don't even talk about it because you aren't pastor-like. In fact, shut up unless you're Jesus. But that's just you - the rest of us are OK to claim a god-like authority over life and death.

If nothing else, this thread validates Steve as an authentic Christian witness: "For it seems to me that God has put us apostles on display at the end of the procession, like men condemned to die in the arena. We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men." (I Corinthians 4:9)

Amy @ 3:28 pm

Oh my! Father Tim, you almost made me want to re-up at Good Shep. God Bless you. I've been spontaneously praying for you every time I drive by.

Steve must have struck a nerve with the Healthy Flies people. I can say this because I am not a "man of the cloth." They suck and they are just plain mean. Yes, mean people suck. Baby killing-approving mean people suck the worst.

It will suck to be you-all when the Father starts lowering the smack down on the mockers. Remember the Good Book says "God will not be mocked - as you sow, so shall you reap." So once again I will say - sucks to be you.

Travis @ 3:34 pm

That sounds like a whirlwind passage Amy.

Bret @ 4:05 pm

Steve got a benz? Don't think so. Maybe a relatives. Maybe it was someones from unhealthy families.

I like Timothy's assesment. Spot on.

I have the same question as complete faith. Is pastor-like, when John the baptist when he was pointing out that Herod married his brothers wife? (In which he was thrown in jail for and eventually beheaded) Is "pastor like" when Jesus chased the money changers out of the temple? Is it like the two religious people who passed by the person who was beaten, robbed and left for dead until a good samaritan came by and helped him. I guess I'm a little confused. What is pastor like?

And pancakes, well good luck. What comes around goes around.

Steve @ 5:32 pm

Pancakes - grow up. Every syllable oozes immaturity. I love it when the immoral start moralizing. I didn't drive off in a Benz. No one in my family has one either. You couldn't see anyway from where you were sitting. I did notice though when I got in my vehicle that a $40K vehicle was parked next to mine with pro-death stickers all over the back end. Hypocrites.

Curious? I have a 2000 Dodge I bought five years ago - used. Pretty high miles now but it runs and I owe nothing. Mine is the nicest car in the family - I can afford better but I model and teach people to give extravagantly, not live extravagantly. Swing and a miss, child.

Recently one of you chastized me for caring about the unborn but not kids after they are born. This from people (liberals) who give a pittance to charity each year. Thousands and thousands of dollars a year leave my hands and go to the poor - kids, the hurting. We care about kids at all their developmental stages - unborn and on up.

Don't give me that bull that no one noticed me until I left the pancake place - I walked the gauntlet on the way to the john and then again on the way out. Cassidy is a liar if he denies giving me the deer-in-headlights-look on the way in, and on my way out Stusiak gave me the constipated look.

I appreciate all the others here commenting - Father Tim you an example of pastor-like in my book and I admire your courage to stay true and appreciate your kind words toward me.

Marcee @ 8:31 pm

A friend told me something interesting today about what happens to a person, who thinks they are going to Heaven (caught in religiousity and believing everyone goes to Heaven) but ends up in hell. The person has the same things in hell that they had in their life on this earth. If they died of painful cancer, they live with that in hell. If they died with multiple gunshot wounds, they live with that in hell. It's burning, screaming misery in a very dark whirling hole with monsters (demons) clawing at you, tearing you apart and tormenting you. Doesn't sound appealing to me.

For those, who go to Heaven, they receive a new body and are completely whole and well. No diseases or anything are on them. It's happy and peaceful and you get to worship a loving God, Jesus Christ, forever. How glorious is that?

What do you choose Heaven or hell? For those of you, who are not sure or think that you are going to Heaven, please be sure of your eternal destination. We are all God's children. He loves even those, who don't love Him or acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior.

How's that for an altar call?

I find it corny that someone used IHOP's initials for a restaurant chain that severs pancakes. Yes, severs, not serves. The real IHOP is in Kansas City. The first time I heard of IHOP being here, I actually thought it was the House of Prayer, and I couldn't wait to go there. When I found out it was a restaurant that served pancakes, I was soooo disappointed! I ate at the IHOP restaurant once, and I did not like their food, so I never went back. Sorry to those of you, who eat at IHOP. I like the pancakes I make myself at home after church with scrambled eggs!

Sounds like Chris has grown to love SD and is now calling it home? I hope he bought a snowblower and some Seran Wrap for the windows on his car!

Complete Faith @ 11:22 pm

Chris either loves South Dakota, or has made himself a prisoner here for fear of prison and being disbarred.

Enjoy the winter Chris

you've got it all wrong @ 9:51 am

You guys really have way too much time on your hands. Chris Cassidy is back in California. And Larry Long, the FBI or any other law enforcement offical has NOT contacted him or the SDC for HEATLHY Families. Do you know why not one person has investigated your silly voter fraud claim? Because what Chris Cassidy did was completely legal. And to think you guys spent so much time and engery on his one vote instead of doing some actual campaign work.
I would like to personally thank you again for running such a poor campaign, it was a pleasure defeating you, AGAIN.

Steve @ 2:38 pm

You've got it all wrong (also known as "you're worst nightmare" - also known as tcampbell) - maybe the Feds are building their case before knocking on his door. Maybe I know something about this that even you don't. Maybe you don't understand the seriousness of even one voter fraud violation. Your delight in more babies dying is sad to me and your vigor to keep fighting against the unborn is demonic.

Travis @ 3:37 pm

Don't forget that one voter fraud violation from a person that is in a leadership role in a campaign could be grounds to have the entire campaign scrutinized.

Maybe the reason this person (You've got it all wrong, Your Worst Nightmare) is beating the drums and trying to persuade people to look the other way is because the voter fraud runss way deeper than just Chris.

Maybe they’re sweating over at SDCFHF

Steve Hickey is just a big bully.

Some Dude @ 1:57 pm

Steve, have you ever seen the rest of that photo album? It's creepy how happy and normal all the nazis seem considering their job was to kill tens of thousands of innocent people.

Off topic, but interesting…
