I've been saying the same thing on a few blogs since yesterday's ruling so I thought I'd drop my morning-after sentiments here too….
Yesterday's ruling by this lone judge can only be seen as a win for both sides IF the suicide statement was anywhere near on equal par with the human being statement in terms of significance to the ongoing practice of abortion. But, it’s not. This judge upheld the human being statement which removes the main pillar supporting Roe v. Wade. The pro-life victories here are enormous, permanent and cemented by the US Court of Appeals. Planned Parenthood’s victories are temporary and fleeting.
What happened yesterday was historic. The suicide statement and the relationship statement will be an easy reverse by the Appeals court once again. This judge has been smacked down by the US Court of Appeals twice so far in this case and it’s remarkable she set herself up for an easy third reversal. The Planned Parenthood-driven and media embraced excitement over this ruling yesterday is merely spin and a PR game, they are in a desperate panic as they know the significance of this and that from here other states will quickly follow.
Planned Parenthood is saying they will appeal the human being statement. That would be good, however it’s unlikely. Remember, Planned Parenthood was able to provide NO evidence that the human being statement was false. Do you think since last year they found some new evidence that conception doesn’t produce a human being? 1973-science supports their agenda, 2009-science does not. What do you think the high court will do when it’s now scientifically provable that we have a human being at conception but the party that profits from that not being true is arguing that it’s somehow possible for a human being to not be a person?
If the Court then doesn’t reverse Roe v Wade on that evidence then every old person in Florida who voted for Obama needs to fear for their lives because this demonic ideology that some are more human than others will quickly shift to the elderly and infirmed as we already see happening.
The judge said yesterday the human being statement is a biological statement and not a ideological statement. Huh? That’s jibberish. Is there a difference between a biological human being and an ideological one? Maybe we should ask “God’s new partner in matters related to life and death.” But wait, I thought that stuff was above his pay grade.
