Honoring racism in Washington, while God is whitewashed away

A decade ago I walked through the "war crimes" museum in Saigon (aka Hồ Chí Minh City). A couple locals on a bus cautioned me about calling it "Saigon" because, as they explained, we could get in trouble with the government for speaking about "the fall of Saigon." The politically correct lingo is to speak of the "liberation of Hồ Chí Minh City." The war crimes museum opened my eyes to the danger of revisionist history. It taught me you can leave a bunch of stuff out and unmentioned, and stick a bunch of other twisted stuff in frames on the wall, charge admission, and the people will one day think your version is what really happened (especially if they are threatened and punished for political incorrectness).

The revising of our history has been going on in America for the better part of a generation. Now we have young people who've only been taught revisionist history.

Consider the new Capital Visitors Center. $621 million taxpayer dollars were recently spent on what is now being called a shrine to political correctness.  Historical references to God were intentionally, and from a historian's perspective, unconscionably removed. If this is news to you then watch this to learn more about this war on God.  I encourage you to watch actually watch this and learn about the Church in the Capital and much more. You'll learn something.

Now the revisionists are using taxpayer dollars to honor racist Margaret Sanger at the Smithsonian Institute. What they leave out is her is the entirety of her overtly and expressly racist agenda and philosophy and it's legacy on planet earth.  Watch it, you'll learn something.

Some Dude @ 11:29 am

Why does everything have to be a war to you?

It would be silly for historians to remove all references to religion from our bown history. Escapeing religious persecution elsewhere is the reason many immigrants came here and the reason we're such a diverse nation today.

BTW: history is written by the victor. That's why you don't hear a whole lot about atrocities commited by the allies (mostly the Soviets) in WW2. Nobody comes away clean from a war.

Steve @ 12:01 pm

The Jihadists have declared war on us and secular progressives in America think we are at peace with them and just want to sit down and talk. Who is right? The one who recognizes the battle or the one who denies it's existence?

There are two opposing worldviews clashing in our land - one is the historic Judeo-Christian worldview that has been tested over the centuries here and for three thousand years. Those of us who hold to that worldview are under daily barrage - that's why this is a war to me. Children are the casualties. The stability of society is at stake. Freedom is at stake.

Dude - you didn't watch the videos did you? I saved you a step and put the first one right on the post for easy access. As quick as your comment came after I posted this I had to think you opened your mouth before hearing what was really coming forth here.

i really was not able to put to words why we christians are so up in arms about the social issues of the day, but i think this quote hits it on the head.

"when the principles that run against deepest convictions begin to win the day then battle is your calling and peace has become sin."
~ Abraham Kuyper.

the fact is that the left threatens every single one of my deepest convictions. to sit by and let it happen has now become sin.

Some Dude @ 2:26 pm

Steve-
Something tells me you decided what I was saying before you read my post.
I'm not one of those people who believes we should just sit down and negotiate with jihadists.
I prefer we use the same tools of negotiation my brother did while he was in Iraq - and M4, an M249, Ma Deuce, and a radio to call in air support.
The Islamic faith is in the same place the Christian faith was in the middle ages - crusade mode. While the vast majority of muslims don't go along with the jihad mentality, those who do need to be stopped in any way possible.

Don't assume that just because someone is one one side of one issue, you know what side they're on in another issue.

Steve @ 2:56 pm

Dude - Can I recommend another book to you? It's apparent to me you really need to read this book…

http://www.amazon.com/Politically-Incorrect-Guide-Islam-Crusades/dp/0895260131

At least time the time to read the cover so you see that revision historians aren't telling us the real story on even the crusades.

Some Dude @ 3:58 pm

Do you own this book? I'd read it.

I have a hard time believing the people who worshipped and gathered for feasts next door to me in college want to destroy me. They were some of the nicest, most accomidating people I've ever met. They also cooked amazing food.
I lived next to my college town's Islamic Society, which doubled as a mosque. The entire week after 9/11, there were countless muslim students holed up in there afraid for their lives - and shocked that such a tragedy happened to the nation they call home.
I have also read the Quran from cover to cover (which made me wonder where they get the whole "72 virgins" thing. It wasn't in there. My grandma was given a copy by her daughter-in-law's mother (who is Iranian).

Complete Faith @ 4:52 pm

SD, there are plenty of Muslims that absolutely wonderful and peaceful people, and there are others that are not.

It's a variation in their understanding of the faith.

The thing that makes it hard for an outsider is knowing who believes what, and who we need to protect ourselves from.

Steve @ 4:59 pm

Dude - I do own the book and would happily lend it to you. I could have it at the receptionist desk for you to pick tomorrow. Let me know.

Your Muslim neighbors in college didn't want to destroy you. Maybe their leaders think that way. Many Muslims here are the equivalent of liberal Christians - they water down their faith.

God is moving powerfully in Muslim nations right now. He's doing it apart from the pathetic witness of us Christians. He's reaching them himself with dreams of Jesus while they sleep at night. God loves Muslims. Here's a stat for you … among African Muslims, 42 percent of the new believers come to Christ through visions, dreams, angelic appearances and hearing God's voice.

Here's a video for you - you'll like it - grab a couple beers and sit down and spend 45 minutes with it. I showed clips of it a few months back in church. It's worth it. http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=Muslims,+dreams,+Jesus&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=X&oi=video_result_group&resnum=4&ct=title#
