I'd like another helping of the abortion issue, please.

Borrowed this title from another South Dakota blog. Understandably, they bane the thought of another state-wide battle for the lives of the unborn. Frankly, I feel the same.

I don't want another helping of the abortion issue any more than I want to walk with people in our church through another round of chemotherapy. But, to rid the body public of such a deeply embedded blight, you do what you've got to do. Life is at stake. And if one life isn't enough for you, maybe you'll listen to the Almighty Dollar…

The bottom line for the society, per person, comes out to roughly a $1.4 million benefit for a child allowed to be born, contrasted with a cost of just under $100,000 for an aborted child. To the public treasury, the estimated benefit of the birth is just over $200,000, compared to an abortion cost of $32,000.
