Judge rules SD abortionists must say baby is a human being
Wow Argus Leader, this judge just ruled FOUR IN OUR FAVOR and two not in our favor and that's the headline you run with?? The human being disclosure alone undermines the main support under Roe v Wade. And then to state that this judge's ruling will likely bring an end to this matter. What are you all smoking over there? The remaining two points will be appealed immediately and overturned. The AP office here in town has the scoop without the spin: SD abortion doctors must say it's human being…
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) A federal judge has ruled that South Dakota abortion doctors must tell pregnant women the procedure terminates the life of a human being. U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier (SHRY'-er) ruled Thursday on a lawsuit filed by Planned Parenthood Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota after an informed consent law passed in 2005 requiring several disclosures to women seeking an abortion She says though doctors must make the human being disclosure, the term can be used in a biological sense Schreier ruled against the state and a pregnancy counseling center by concluding that pregnant women do not need to be told abortion increases the likelihood of suicide or that they have an existing relationship with the fetus.
Expect the South Dakota Planned Parenthood to get shut down on Saturday - I'm already digging around for my picture of their "these doors will remain open" banner they defiantly hung out in the fall of 06. And stay tuned here as I'm about post some timely and related findings that law abiding citizens and legislators in our state will find infuriating.

Well, which headline you prefer depends on your perspective. Pro-Lifers, like yourself, think the most important part of this ruling is what the judge kept in the law. In that case, you'd prefer the AP headline you quoted. Pro-Choices think the most important part of the ruling is what the judge struck down, so the Argus headline is more to their liking. I like the more neutral headline from KSFY: "Judge Issues Split Ruling On South Dakota Abortion Law".

Haggs - your comment might ring true IF the suicide statement was anywhere near on equal par with the human being statement in terms of significance to the ongoing practice of abortion. But, it's not. This judge upheld the human being statement which removes the main pillar supporting Roe v. Wade. What happened yesterday was historical. The suicide statement and the relationship statement will be reversed by the Appeals court again.
Planned Parenthood is saying they will appeal the human being statement. That will be good. Remember, Planned Parenthood was able to provide NO evidence that the human being statement was false. Do you think since last year they found some new evidence that conception doesn't produce a human being? What do you think the high court will do when it's now scientifically provable that we have a human being at conception but the party that profits from that not being true is arguing that its somehow possible for a human being to not be a person? If the Court doesn't reverse RW on that evidence then every old person in Florida who voted for Obama needs to fear for their lives because this demonic ideology that some are more human than others will quickly shift to the elderly and infirmed as we already see happening.
The judge said yesterday the human being statement is a biological statement and not a ideological statement. Huh? Is there a difference between a biological human being and an ideological one? Maybe we should ask "God's new partner in matters related to life and death." But wait, I thought that stuff was above his pay grade.
