Massive oil field discovered under the Dakota's, maybe God is about to bless those who bless babies

Last month when I traveled the state, a gave a handout to pastors in South Dakota addressing the top ten reasons a South Dakota pastor might not support the current abortion legislation. On that list of ten is the fear that the good people in our churches will have to pay more taxes as our state fights this to the Supreme Court level. It's a financial fear, the economy is already unsettled - we already pay enough in taxes - we don't like money going to lawyers… you can understand the sentiments.

Always pay careful attention to how closely Molech (the ancient demonic spirit behind child sacrifice/abortion) and Mammon (the ancient demonic spirit that attaches itself to money) work together. The number one stated reason women seek abortions is because they "can't afford" another child. Churches are intimated to speak against abortion with fears of losing their sacred non-profit status. And good people in the electorate cower from fighting abortion because we "can't afford" to fight this in court. If we really cared about not spending tax money on the abortion issue, we'd write our legislators to encourage them to shut down the 300 million US tax dollars Planned Parenthood presently gets annually.

The Bible is clear, the shedding of innocent blood puts a curse on the land. Dealing with the bloodshed/bloodguilt issue releases God's favor on a land. Favor isn't just God's smile, it includes prosperity and blessing. When we deal with this matter of the shedding of innocent blood, the result will be the release of God's blessing and financial favor on our nation. Or, we can continue to eek out a living under a curse all because we don't want to pay some legal fees.

I see God wanting and willing to bless this nation. That a massive 200 billion barrel oil field is found under the Dakota's tells me God is poised and ready to prosper us. Experts expect this will be one of the greatest booms in oil discovery since oil was discovered in Saudi Arabia in 1938. Am I alone in believing God is preparing to release us from dependance on Babylonian nations?

North Dakota rancher John Warberg said, “It seems like God flew over this country, and a dart landed on Granddad’s homestead.” According to the NY Times, Warberg is being paid royalties for the new oil well on the land where his grandfather’s crumbling, nearly century-old homestead shack stands.

In 2004, in the auditorium of Riggs High School in Pierre, Chuck Pierce prophesied that this day would come - that riches and resources would come forth from this land - land the rest of the world writes off as “wasteland.” The Bible says “you will be called Sought After.” Somebody just preached a message by that title (South Dakota: Sought After)… hmm…. Maybe God is preparing to bless those who bless babies.

Last summer I went to Ghana with a team from Church at the Gate. Ghana was celebrating the fact that they just discovered oil. Actually, the discovery of oil came within six months of the President of Ghana dedicating the nation of Ghana to the Lord. I have pictures of banners that hung all over the nation calling the nation to “a national day of prayer and thanksgiving for the discovery of oil within six months of dedicating our nation to God.” That’s what the banners say!

I believe God is willing and wanting to bless us, and is readying to do so. The blessing however is continugent on us dealing with the shedding of innocent blood and the nation turning back to Him. Just like in Scripture, when the people of God don’t do this, he enslaves them to pagan nations who make their lives miserable. According to Ezekiel 35:6, the economic woes and terrorism will forever haunt nations that tolerate the shedding of innocent blood.

This is great news, Pastor Steve!

I would love to see God bless us this way, for so many reasons.

But as we've lost the moral discernment to recognize human life in the womb and protect it, so I fear we've lost the moral discernment to realize that God gave us the earth and all that is in it to be used wisely.

This nation holds tremendous natural resources, but we are prevented from using so many of them by people who would rather worship creation than the One who created it, and by politicians who would rather be popular than do what's right.

If we lack the judgment to recognize that there is human life in the womb, and that it should be protected, it's no stretch to fear that we may also lack the judgment to utilize the material blessings God has put before us.

Bob - Perhaps a third great awakening will hit the nation and we will again be able to steward our blessings.

What laws if any are on the religous books concerning Elder Abuse? And what is the churches role in disciplining it's members that do not adhere to the values of the church on that topic? I see so much concern for the religous striving for the rights and protection of the unborn and yet an out-right neglect to address the practice of active members of churches that are full of hugs and smiles at thier church on the weekend and yet during the week show no mercy or kindness towards thier elder parents at all. The role of the church in society is innefectual as long as its members are allowed to claim adherence to dogma, doctrine, and belief and then blatantly practice the opposite in plain site of those outside of the church. An answer is demanded, to what level of accountability do you hold your members in relation to their respsonsibilies to their parents.

Clyde - Thanks for commenting. I wouldn't call what you are describing elder "abuse", more like elder neglect. I've been around the world and can say that American society is the only society I've seen where we discard our elderly. In other cultures, elders are revered and respected. Even in living arrangements, it's not just the nuclear family in a home. It's the extended family under one roof - kids, mom, dad, grandparents too. The culture of death with which I write about often on this blog has no regard for the unborn, and euthanasia is the other end of the same issue. I teach our church to value life from the cradle to the grave. But, even with that, I'm sure there are people in our church who are too busy or unable to care for their parents so they let brothers and sisters do it or get them to a nursing home. There isn't much I do to hold anyone accountable specifically as I have no idea in our size church who has aging parents and who doesn't. I preach on caring for widows. Personally, I'm trying to model something different, after my dad was killed my mom moved in with me and my family and that is the way it is in our home today. Sounds like you are speaking from some pain on this issue. Blessings to you. SH
