Maybe Obama won't be our next President
Amazing to me that the Obama citizenship issue won't go away. If you have been in a cave somewhere, this will bring you up to speed quickly. Be sure to watch the whole thing. You can also follow developments here. A more detailed video is here but is 30 minutes long. I'm curious what you think. If Obama wants this to go away, he should produce a legitimate birth certificate. Until then, suspicions will continue to grow. My adversaries are surely scoffing at me here for doting in wishful thinking. Christian Newswire posted a story on this today called - The Presidential Election is not Over. Here's the full page ad that will appear in the Washington Times National Weekly Edition this weekend.

It's been produced already, and verified by a reputable source.
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html
For some reason, the conspiracy theorists are still holding on.
Travis @ 3:19 pm
If that is true, he should definitely be disqualified. Why hasn’t the government demanded he release his birth certificate?
Fred Barnes @ 5:10 pm
Not only has he produced his birth certificate, but the State of Hawaii has now certified it:
http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html
FactCheck.org staffers have now seen, touched, examined and photographed the original birth certificate. We conclude that it meets all of the requirements from the State Department for proving U.S. citizenship. Claims that the document lacks a raised seal or a signature are false. We have posted high-resolution photographs of the document as "supporting documents" to this article. Our conclusion: Obama was born in the U.S.A. just as he has always said.
Update, Nov. 1: The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health confirmed Oct. 31 that Obama was born in Honolulu.
Analysis
Update Nov. 1: The Associated Press quoted Chiyome Fukino as saying that both she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.
Fukino also was quoted by several other news organizations. The Honolulu Advertiser quoted Fukino as saying the agency had been bombarded by requests, and that the registrar of statistics had even been called in at home in the middle of the night.
Honolulu Advertiser, Nov. 1 2008: "This has gotten ridiculous," state health director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said yesterday. "There are plenty of other, important things to focus on, like the economy, taxes, energy." . . . Will this be enough to quiet the doubters? "I hope so," Fukino said. "We need to get some work done."
Fukino said she has “personally seen and verified that the Hawaii State Department of Health has Sen. Obama’s original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures."
Steve @ 5:29 pm
Elizabeth - for some reason your posts kept going directly to my spam box. Not sure why. My comment to Fred below relates to your comment also.
Fred - Thanks for the info. I've seen it before. Here's why it's not credible to me - Factcheck.org is sponsored by the group (Annenberg) whose board Obama and terrorist Ayers sat on together. It even says so on the factcheck.org homepage. Conflict of interest??? I'll say. Reputable source?? Not by any stretch of the imagination. Hello??
I'll wait until the Supreme Court looks this over. Obama could make all this go away. Why he doesn't is revealing to me.
Elizabeth @ 6:34 pm
Hi Steve,
Sorry I submitted my comment so many times– I was pretty confused as to what was going on.
Here's another independent political fact checker who came to the same conclusion:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/2008/jun/27/obamas-birth-certificate-part-ii/
I don't think we're going to see the Supreme Court address this because it's really not a legitimate issue issue. It will be dismissed immediately. Obama has "made it go away." He's submitted his birth certificate to several groups who wanted to see it. The birth certificate has been examined; it's been confirmed by the State of Hawaii. Now that he's proven to nearly all of the population that he's a citizen, he's got more important things to deal with, like getting his administration in order, and meeting with people to determine which policies to pursue in January.
I really do believe that all of these things, the advertisement above, etc, are just the "Hail Mary's" of those who are holding out on accepting Obama as President. If any of these claims were legitimate, there is no way the campaign would have gone as far as it did.
Fred Barnes @ 6:35 pm
Ok, if you doubt factckeck, then how about fox news?
how about the state of Hawaii?
http://www.foxnews.com/wires/2008Oct31/0,4670,ObamaBirthCertificate,00.html
State declares Obama birth certificate genuine
HONOLULU — State officials say there's no doubt Barack Obama was born in Hawaii.
Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said Friday she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate.
Fukino says that no state official, including Republican Gov. Linda Lingle, ever instructed that Obama's certificate be handled differently.
She says state law bars release of a certified birth certificate to anyone who does not have a tangible interest.
Some Obama critics claim he was not born in the US.
Earlier Friday, a southwest Ohio magistrate rejected a challenge to Obama's citizenship. Judges in Seattle and Philadelphia recently dismissed similar suits.

Do some research on Annenberg mr know it all pastor
Marcee @ 7:45 pm
Has there ever been so much fraud and deception as there was for this election - our nation, as well as in SD? I don't recall any as bad as this, but maybe I haven't been around long enough to know.
God's in control! Trust Him!
Steve @ 8:21 pm
AC- if you don't want to read what I feel like writing about, don't come back.
AC @ 9:08 pm
I think it's important that you research what you think you know.
The Annenberg Foundation provides funding and support to nonprofit organizations in the United States and globally through its headquarters in Radnor, Pennsylvania and offices in Los Angeles, California. Its major program areas are education and youth development; arts, culture and humanities; civic and community; health and human services; and animal services and the environment.
Trying discredit the Anneberg foundation with some silly idea that Obama isn't a natural born citizen is lame.
You are just a sorry loser, as is all who continue to try and find a way to say reality isn't.
You fight for the unborn has been valient, I commend you.
But as for the presidency, Get over it. Obama is your next president. Your bigotry is offensive.
AC @ 9:19 pm
And one more thing.
If you and other churches plan to tell parishioners that they need to repent or pray about the sin they committed by voting for Obama, you should all be ready to lose a lot of your congregations.
I'm sure Jesus would be proud of you shaming those who have came to you or other churches looking for God, just as I'm shue he's been while watching the catholic church pay restitution to the many they abused.
Obama won by a majority, and I'm sure many of those who voted (probably most) are Christians. You evangelicals cornered the market in 2000, but have continued to lose ground. Belittleing and shaming those who look up to you will do little to build your alliance back up.
Steve @ 9:32 pm
AC - thanks for your concern but I won't be tailoring the message to keep the most number of people around. Would you be surprised to hear that people are looking for strong moral leadership today and a number of people this fall switched to our church because, in their words, "it's refreshing." The denominations that compromise the Word are the ones seeing the mass exodus and are in danger of extinction.
Steve @ 9:49 pm
This thing is gaining momentum. Today Alan Keyes filed a court petition in California asking the Secretary of State to not give California's 55 electoral votes to Obama until he produces a legit birth certificate.
http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=80931
The article ends with this: "more than half a dozen other legal challenges have been filed in federal and state courts demanding Obama's decertification from ballots or seeking to halt elector meetings, claiming he has failed to prove his U.S. citizenship status. Among the states where cases are being tracked are Ohio, Connecticut, Washington, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Hawaii, and there were reports of other cases being developed in Utah, Wyoming, Florida, New York, North Carolina, Texas, California and Virginia."
AC @ 10:49 pm
We'll see how the Obama thing turns out soon enough and I would hope you would end the crazy "guilt by associations".
I have not been a member of a church for a few years but might take the time to check out your church sometime, possibly during 'maximum rock'. Somehow with the way you 'speak' on your blog, it is hard for me to imagine it "refreshing", but I'm not one to pass judgment without facts.
Amy @ 11:15 pm
Fred, et al:
"Health Department Director Dr. Chiyome Fukino said Friday she and the registrar of vital statistics, Alvin Onaka, have personally verified that the health department holds Obama's original birth certificate."
Yes, I myself an authentic "original" birth certificate from Alaska; however, it is a computer-generated form that I received when I requested it 10 years ago for my passport.
It is not my ORIGINAL birth certificate, completed by hand at the hospital in Fairbanks, which I assume is microfiched somewhere in Anchorage.
Hawaii has issue a birth certificate for Obama, it's true. I believe that birth certificate either shows that Barack Hussien Obama (Sr) is not his father, or that Barack Hussien Obama is his father, and Barack Jr was born in Kenya, as his Grandmother Sarah has said. Even if he was born overseas, Hawaii can still issue a certificate of live birth for him, so that is not in dispute.
People need to educate themselves. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid.
In addition to his birth certificate being unavailable for viewing (and I add my why? to the vast and growing chorus of whys?), Obama's records from Harvard and Columbia are also sealed. Why?
Obama traveled to Pakistan in 1981, at a time when the US did not have diplomatic relationship with Pakistan. The only way Obama could have traveled there is on a foreign, non-US passport, like an Indonesian passport. Did I forget to mention that he stopped in to visit his mom and sister in Indonesia right before his three-week tour of Pakistan?
This information is factual and mentioned in Obama's book. Hmmm.
Looks like things may be lining up for a constitutional crisis.
Bret @ 11:55 pm
I agree with Elizabeth and Fred Barnes. Is this the Fred Barnes (the weekly standard & the Beltway Boys) on Special Report with Brit Hume?
If this had any validity Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh would be all over this, the fact that they are not should send out red flags that this is nothing more than a conspiracy theory. I personally don't care for Obama, didn't and wouldn't ever vote for the guy but I also have low tolerance for hyped up stuff regardless of who or what it's about.
I was actually suprised to see this topic pop up on the site, but I suppose with a couple of people providing the links to "obamacrimes" it was bound to happen.
I'd be more than happy to eat my words should anything come of this conspiracy theory.
AC @ 12:04 am
Instead of "conspiracy theories" we should really be praying for the president elect.
Obama is being handed the Worst mess in recent history. American's should Fear what may happen, not due to Obama, but due to the last 8 years. Let's pray God will protect President Obama so he can, hopefully, fix some of the problems we face.
AC @ 12:09 am
and I'm with Bret:
I'd be more than happy to eat my words should anything come of this conspiracy theory.
Stephanie @ 12:20 am
AC,
I attend Steve's church and I just encourage you to come. It is an amazing experience. I use to be Lutheran and then I moved out to DC. While out there I checked out so many different churches. When I moved back to Sioux Falls my ma and I went to Church at the Gate and have never thought twice about it. I have never learned so much then from the ministry staff at CATG. I also have never felt so welcome as I do at CATG. It's an amazing place. To top that off Steve and the other staff does not condemn you and say you are going to hell, they only encourage you, and we all know we need encourgagement these days. I'm a fairly young church go'er, and in the past I've always been tempted to skip out on going to church. Ever since I've started CATG I dread days that I cannot go to church. I cannot explain this other then the staff and congregation are great. They will truly welcome you. I welcome you to come try it out. There is also a lot of support at CATG along with many other groups and activities to get involved in. I for once have never seen so many congregational members attend a soup and pie event like I have at CATG. One time my ma and I couldn't even find a parking spot. It's a very active, supporting church. Along with that if you are hurting in any way there are people who will take the time to truly be with you and pray with you!
As far as Fox news goes though Bill O'Reilly covers this Obama deal frequently on his show. He agrees that there is no proof that Obama is a US citizen. Fox News was the number one watched news station during the election, and Bill O'Reilly was the number one watched broadcaster.
Along with all of this it's not just his birth certificate in question it is also his selective service, along with his "degrees" which he has not provided proof of his graduation.
Steve cannot do all the research for us on this blog. He is an American just like the rest of us. Therefore, if you are not pleased with what he is doing then don't read his blog or do the research yourself. When you do the research yourself make sure you are not doing it from a source with a conflict of interest. If you don't want to do any of this then don't complain!
Bret @ 2:08 am
Stephanie,
Check this link out regarding O'Reilly
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GT1SXCQgv2A
Contradicts your statement on O'Reilly.
I have researched this, to what extent I can or any of us here really can, and found no evidence to support this conspiracy theory. But that's my opinion.
Steve @ 9:59 am
Thanks for the comments everyone. For me, things like a writ of certiorari before the Supreme Court, court petitions in nine states since the election last week asking the Secretaries of State to confirm his legitimacy as a candidate makes all this far more than a conspiracy theory. For me, that news organizations like World Net Daily and Christian Newswire and guys like Alan Keyes putting their name on the line tells me what we have here is a legitimate question that deserves a straight answer. That Fox and others haven't stayed with the story and yet it's still gaining momentum makes me perk up even more. Also, I find the complaintant Phil Berg very credible. Obama remains an unknown and he's anything but forthright with the American people.
To clarify, nobody's comment pointing me to obamacrimes.com alerted me to this - I'm been watching this since August. I've had over a dozen emails from people these past couple months telling me I should put something on the blog. But I ignored all that until after the election and as I said in the post, amazingly this story is still with us and gaining strength so I decided to throw it out for conversation. It could go away tomorrow and that will be that. Until then, I consider it blogable, interesting and newsworthy.
I'm intrigued by those who lean on me telling me to get over it, that Obama is my President, yada yada. This from people who never got over Bush being their President. Eight years of the highest level of dishonoring imaginable and now they moralize me when I don't warm up immediately to That One.
Amy @ 10:37 am
I guess my main concern is WHY? Why cover up his birth certificate if there is nothing to hide. Why seal his collegiate records if there is nothing to hide? Now the B Cast at Breitbart.com has bought up another compelling inconsistency with BHO's selective service registration. This one looks legit: http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/columns/ page down until you see the form, or just listen to the B-Cast at http://www.breitbart.com
The bottom line is never has so much been hidden from so many by One. Shake yourselves awake people and ask WHY?
The emperor has no clothes.
Amy @ 11:18 am
Let's talk for a minute about BHO's "Civilian Security Force" Here are some comments for you from a very good article that all - be you pro-Obama or Pro-Life and everyone else - should read: http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/11/obama_fear_and_the_security_fo.html
Georgia Congressman Paul Broun recently addressed the program and exhibited both fear and a grasp of history, saying:
"That's exactly what Hitler did in Nazi Germany and it's exactly what the Soviet Union did. When he's proposing to have a national security force that's answering to him, that is as strong as the U.S. military, he's showing me signs of being Marxist."
Of course, many will nevertheless say that such concerns are but the musings of the tin-foil hat crowd. But such scoffing is par for the course. As Professor Manfred Weidhorn of Yeshiva University wrote:
". . . even if you are prescient enough to observe oncoming evils, you are prevented from acting precisely because other people, being normal, lack your prescience. They therefore see you, rather than the evil person, as the deluded or warmongering malevolent soul. When Churchill warned about Hitler in the 1930s, many people became more upset with Churchill than with Hitler. The anomaly is that the prophet has therefore to wait for the evil to manifest itself and thereby to make everyone else see things the prophet's way. But by then the chance to do anything may be gone."
Fred Barnes @ 6:18 pm
Listen, in order to believe it, you only have to believe that…
There's a massive conspiracy that includes Obama's Grandmother in Hawaii (deceased - possibly murdered by Barack himself to keep her silent), Obama's Grandmother in Africa, every major newspaper in Hawaii, Governor Lisa Lingle, Governor Rod Blagojevich, the other officials of Hawaii, numerous people in the campaign to fake it, Hillary Clinton, Snopes.com, Factcheck.org, The Associated Press, and all the major media outlets…including Fox News.
And on top of that, Obama spent the better part of three decades hushing up and paying off hundreds of people, and forging thousands of documents, to hide the fact that he's Kenyan rather than U.S. born, all while running for State and National Office, and writing two books.
Finally, all this would only be done if his parents thought he might want to run for president someday, because that's the only reason being a "natural born" would even matter, and if they had those aspirations for their child, why name him "Hussein" anyway?
there are other battles to fight, like discussing how the moon landings were faked or that Bush was behind 9/11, or simply making trips to roswell, NM to see what REALLY happened there.
AC @ 8:38 pm
now you freaks are saying Obama murdered his grandma to shut her up?
This type of garbage (from you and your crazy followers) is what makes your crusade a joke mr. hickey
Steve @ 8:44 pm
AC - Fred isn't a follower. If you would have read his comment more closely you would see he is on your side.
Go away. My crusade… justice for the unborn… is no joke. Please simmer down or go away. I wouldn't think of going on someones blog anonymously and repeatedly calling them names. This is your last warning. Another insult out of you toward me and you get blocked.
Nikole @ 10:43 pm
AC - I can not belive that you truly have the audacity to come to this blog and tell Steve what a ridiculous pastor he is based on your self-righteous point of view. It is more than sickening to me.
You confuse me, saying we should be praying for Obama out of one side of your mouth and then calling those of us who stand for the unborn "crazy" and "freaks".
Who are you and what do you stand for? At one point you used scripture to try to slap Steve's face for what you considered "un-pastor-like conduct". And then you call him and us names. If you want someone else to live up to a specific standard, hen you must be willing to live up to it yourself.
Bret @ 11:06 pm
AC (whoever you are) you are certainly over the top. Maybe you haven't taken your meds or something because you certainly sound bi-polar. (No offense to people who truly are bi-polar) If I was Steve I would have blocked you long ago, you are like a blog stalker. Maybe there's a law for that?
But all that aside Jesus does love you just the way you are, mean spirited and everything, but he doesn't want you to stay that way. The only thing you have to do is repent and give him your life and do a 180 and stop being a jerk.
Stephanie @ 12:15 am
Bret,
Do you have another link? That video is no longer available. Thanks!
Ted @ 5:22 am
Hot Air, a "conservative Internet broadcast network" had this to say about it.
"The only issue for which a birth certificate is germane is the question of Obama’s eligibility for office as a native-born citizen. Obama’s campaign already released a copy of their Certificate of Live Birth which shows his eligibility, and the blurb in the Honolulu Advertiser confirms the data on the COLB. Obama has been confirmed as Constitutionally eligible for the office he seeks.
Undoubtedly, this will not stop the speculation among conspiracy theorists. Taking a spin through the comments and the trackbacks at the site, one title actually says in part, “Mystery continues.” Unless someone wants to argue that the Advertiser decided to participate in a conspiracy at Obama’s birth in 1961 to provide false citizenship on the off-chance that an infant from a union of a Kenyan father and a teenage mother would run for President, then I’d say the “mystery” is over."
http://hotair.com/archives/2008/07/23/does-this-kill-the-obama-birth-certificate-myth/
This story is dead.
Ted @ 5:25 am
Stephanie, try the link again. It isn't dead for me.

Some Dude @ 1:52 pm
"Has there ever been so much fraud and deception as there was for this election - our nation, as well as in SD? I don't recall any as bad as this, but maybe I haven't been around long enough to know."
Yes. The 1960 election between Kennedy and Nixon was probably worse. It's widely believed that Joe Kennedy Sr. bought the election. It was as close as Bush v. Gore, and there are documented cases of the dead rising from the grave to vote for Kennedy.
This election was pretty clean in comparison.
