Media more shocked by turkey slaughter than slaughter of innocents
The hot Youtube clip of the day is Sarah Palin's interview with the turkey getting slaughtered in the background. Palin doesn't flinch. In fact, prior to the interview she was apparently asked if she wanted a different backdrop behind her and she said "no worries." I love it. Even funnier is how media protects us from the horror by blocking out the gory part and forewarning us to get the kids out of the room quickly.
Here's the bigger picture… no shock and horror, ever, from liberals or the media regarding the dismembering of unborn children but the sight of a turkey in a kill cone is appalling. Something's wrong when we have empathy for turkeys but are indifferent to the plight of the unborn. Frankly I thought the turkey killing was merciful. Last month when my son and I wacked the heads off our two turkeys we just let them run and flap and bleed out in the field behind the barn.

You can relate anything to abortion, can't you Steve?
How about Teenageg Mutant Ninja Turles? or Spam?
Chris @ 7:50 pm
Well, of course (Angry Guy) we can relate nearly anything to abortion. Honestly…how foolish it is to suggest that this turkey slaughter is brutal. Killing anything is brutal - but this turkey is raised for this purpose….
Why do we call the treatment of animals humane anyway? All sorts of groups are up in arms against the inhumane treatment of animals - but these same groups are often times fully supportive of abortion…even though this is actually inhumane.
I don't understand that self-contradictory implicating actions of these people.
It's OK to kill a human, but it's not OK to kill a turkey, or shoot a dog, or whatever.
I have spoken with may cultural elitists who believe we are more enlightened, informed, and better educated today than we were 200 years ago. I just don't see it.

Unnecessary killing of both human beings and nonhuman beings is morally wrong.
Both humans and higher animals have natural rights and it is a crime to kill either needlessly.
Our species has always been too ready and willing to destroy lives, whether through abortion violence, military violence or violence against animals.
To live a good moral life, oppose ALL unnecessary destruction of life.
Chris @ 10:16 pm
Joe, What is a higher animal?
Yeah, all organic matter has natural rights - even plants.
The irony is that those who think that it is OK to kill a baby…a human being in any form…somehow think that it's not OK (or at least it's inhumane) to kill an animal -
Why even label treatment of animals as humane - their not human…
Chris @ 10:33 pm
Sorry…I hit post before I was done…
Joe - I agree totally, the unnecessary destruction of any life is a vile and cursed practice….no matter what the life.
There, however, is no instance where the killing of any human especially an unborn baby is ever necessary.

obama has the 100% WORST voting record FOR aborting babies. he even voted for leaving babies just to die! obama is on video saying "the first thing i'd do as president is to sign the freedom of choice act"….this is the big hero of planned parenthood, the national abortion clinic.

I happen to know an individual that crossed state lines and order the execution of over 80 innocent chickens. I'm not sure, is that a federal crime? (I'm sorry but no video)

MSNBC needs to get a clue. They are the absolute worst when it comes to media. It's a TURKEY. As stated in this - it's not like it was a child. Oh wait, that happens every 24 seconds and nobody seems to care.
Hmmmmmm… where's the humanity in that?

"Something's wrong when we have empathy for turkeys but are indifferent to the plight of the unborn."
Something's also wrong when you misuse language. It wasn't empathy for the turkeys, but empathy for the viewers of the clip that motivated the warnings and "blocking of the gory parts."
If you honestly think that the uproar caused by this video is due to the fact that liberals were just so shocked to discover that turkeys are slaughtered before they arrive for Thanksgiving dinner, you are as obtuse as your vapid candidate.
PC @ 5:50 pm
Steve, I'm not completely sure but I think Sugar-B just called you dumb and Gov. Palin dull.
Funny how people without a good point resort to name calling. Reminds me of the playground in elementary school.
Andrew @ 11:28 pm
side note…if there were true empathy for the viewer, ah, would they have shown it???
