Munsterman crystal clear on saving unborn lives, SD Right to Life not so clear
Fresh from the Munsterman campaign trail, here are Scott's comments from the SD Right to Life Convention this weekend. Munsterman tells how his conviction that life begins at conception was initially a matter of faith but became a fact of scientific knowledge for him during a course in embryology when he was studying for his doctorate of chiropractic medicine. He told his wife at that moment - "there is absolutely no way the human body ever evolved" and that "life begins at conception" - a fact was expressly stated in the first sentence of the first chapter of his embryology textbook.
He then stated, "As your governor, if it saves lives I will sign it." You'll note the immediate applause that comment provoked which is curious to me because unfortunately SD Right to Life actively campaigned against Initiated Measure 11 last fall which would have saved most lives, just not all. Munsterman voted for IM11 and you can read my interview with him here on the 2006, 2008 abortion votes.

Kudos Scott,
When I was west-river I noticed something hanging off a Rancher's pickup truck that at first I didn't recognize - but then I realized it was symbolic of what was needed in our politicians and men of today. Thanks for the courage to stand up against the weakness that is in our churches, government, businesses and schools - even ministers will stick a dagger in God's heart by remaining silent on abortion. Thanks for calling a spade a spade - scientifically even!
