Nine "laid off" at SD/MN Planned Parenthood including the SD director

214043848_c80c3314be.jpgImagine you win the Superbowl and within days management sends the quarterback a pink slip. I'd make you think there's a bit more going on behind the scenes than was evident on the playing field wouldn't it?

That's the type of scenario that unfolded last week (at least that's when the rumor made it my way) with regard to the "lay offs" at South Dakota Planned Parenthood. Confirmation comes today in other news reports, Kate Looby and 9 other Planned Parenthood staff were laid off for financial reasons. It sounds like Looby was the only South Dakota layoff, the others were at the Minnesota chop shops.

If you believe this had anything to do with finances, I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Arizona.

Perhaps Kate will come over to the other side now and help us fight the injustice of her former employer and then we can find out the real reasons. Until then we can speculate. I welcome your theories. Here are mine…

Nationally, Planned Parenthood is cleaning house because we are winning. Nationwide the respectability facade is crumbling and people are realizing Planned Parenthood is nothing remotely close to a legitimate health care provider. They just "dismissed" one of their own yesterday for aiding and abetting a sex criminal who preyed on a minor. To hell with the 13 year old girl who was raped, here's how you can cross state lines so the 31 year old perp who took advantage of you doesn't have to do hard time. Planned Parenthood needs 31 year old sex criminals like this out there to keep supplying them with customers. You should watch the video.

Nationwide, Planned Parenthood is removing people who've embarrassed them and become a liability to their bottom line. When I get time I'll blog on Kate Looby's deposition that came before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals where she admits no one in her office is trained and that she has no idea even how many chromosomes are in the human body. This past year, though we lost Initiated Measure 11, we won the Informed Consent case and have a high court ruling saying that at conception a separate living and unique human being is conceived. Planned Parenthood was able to provide "no evidence" to the contrary according to the court. It's not that they provided insufficient or unconvincing evidence, they had none. Kate Looby was a key part of them losing this case. And now, SIXTEEN states are putting forth the Informed Consent bill we now have in South Dakota. This is a giant pro-life victory and it shakes the foundations of Planned Parenthood and Roe v. Wade to have high courts ruling human beings are the products of conception.

And so, really since 2006, Kate the "Quarterback" has been on the bench and Corporate has come in to run these campaigns which have successfully sunk the attempts of actual South Dakotans to stop abortion from being used as birth control.

A layoff within a few days of Christmas is not in anyway a thank you for your faithful service jesture. They cut her like they slice up the unborn, without regard for how it feels. Any suggestions for where Kate should turn now?

Anytime someone departs it's healthy to reminisce. One of my favorite Kate moments was in 2006 when CBS News went to Planned Parenthood here in Sioux Falls for a news story. Kate neglected to pre-screen the young abortion customer they were interviewing on camera. But Kate came furiously bounding into the room when she heard the hurting girl start talking about how she didn't want to have an abortion but was really coerced. As Kate entered the room, the CBS reporter asked the girl who coerced her. The girl pointed at Ms. Looby and said, "she did!" Of course CBS had a devastating story there on camera and it got shelved by CBS's we-love-abortion executives. I'm sure the footage still exists.

Complete Faith @ 10:20 am

I bet PP was bummed when they realized they couldn't dice her up and put her in a trash bag like the rest of the unwanted that come through their office.

Stephanie @ 10:29 am

I think Kate should get on her knees and turn to God.

anonymous @ 11:13 am

Looks like Shannon Stevens was able to hang on to her cheerleading job with the mill. I wonder what Kate thinks of that?

Perhaps Tiffany Campbell will replace Kate. After all, Planned Parenthood is deeply indebted to her for selling her soul. Just a thought.

anonymous @ 11:21 am

Maybe Kate could get a job at a turkey farm and supervise the use of those "kill cones" you blogged about a couple weeks ago. She seems to have a knack for killing.

Amy @ 11:41 am

We have been praying for Kate to get a new job for over two years.

Just not THAT new job. God, help Katie. Please.

anonymous @ 2:21 pm

I heard she is moving to California.

Michael @ 4:08 pm

VC,

Thank you for the link. Please understand that the rumor mentioned on my site is part of satirical article. While truth is often stranger than fiction, that information is fictional as far as I know.

Steve @ 5:04 pm

Michael - I missed the satire part altogether. Sorry. I decided to take down the update.

FYI to the rest reading this - Kate herself did a little guest post today over at Dakota Women (I think she is one of the bloggers there anyway). But here's the link to that - http://dakotawomen.blogspot.com/2008/12/guest-blog-from-kate-looby.html

Looby takes a few paragraphs to say nothing except she so loves abortion and that she got the ax because of budget constraints.

Nonsense Kate - we aren't stupid. Planned Parenthood is loaded $$$$ and your position isn't one that would get cut if they were short on cash. When will you start telling yourself the truth?

Marcee @ 5:33 pm

I was so excited when I heard this news today at work. I have prayed that these people, who got laid off, will come into the light and get jobs, where they will save lives.

When the king is removed, the kingdom collapses. I see this as a Joshua moment. May the Lord be glorified.

A mountain is coming down!

Michael @ 5:49 pm

Steve,

Not a problem. Sometimes I use satire to get across a point, but I'm not like Scrappleface or Iowahawk (since that is just about all they do).

Angie @ 6:03 pm

Steve, you're a little off base about Kate being at DakotaWomen. Today's guest blog was Kate's first time authoring a piece for us.

Just out of curiosity, which DakotaWomen contributor did you think was Kate?

Steve @ 6:09 pm

I can't remember - either "That Girl" or "Anna" - I called one of them Kate for a while when I responded via comments. I remember it made their day.

Stephanie @ 7:17 pm

Just read DW post written by Kate Looby;
Interestingly, She gave thanks for her children, all while in the past 6 years she's been helping to kill other's children……..

Grace @ 10:08 pm

Steve,
If CBS had the footage, they would have aired it. It doesn't exist. If this "hurting girl" didn't want to have an abortion, why was she in PP? Why would Kate Looby coerce any woman to have an abortion? Are their legs tied to the stirups? No one coerces women into getting an abortion. Carrie Sanchez's story about changing her mind and wanting to leave PP but being sedated is false. No woman is sedated for the abortion, they are awake. Ask Kayla Brandt. Carrie Sanchez's real story is that she would have rather sent her baby to heaven than send it to a family she didn't know. That's what she told her BFF.
All the "hurting" women who spoke on the Task Force were not under oath. Lie, lie, lie. These women are hurting because they regret their decision. Well having an abortion is not a decision you can take back. Looks like these hurting women should have thought a little longer and harder before they had their abortions.
Steve, are you still waiting for KARE-11 retraction piece? And how about the Argus? Still threatening to sue them for publishing the Campbell ad?

Marilyn @ 11:21 am

Grace said "If this "hurting girl" didn't want to have an abortion, why was she in PP?" I thought they did all kinds of "health care" for women, not just abortions. Thanks for clearing that up for me Grace.

Amy @ 6:35 pm

I wonder if "Grace" could be Katie. That's her daughter's name, after all. I think it is ironic, in a God kind of way, that Katie would name her daughter Grace, because grace is what Katie needs, and grace is what Jesus is offering.

Haggs @ 9:18 pm

I forget, are Christians supposed to gloat?

"Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, And do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles;" - Proverbs 24:17

December 6, 2008

Steve @ 7:14 am

Thanks for the scripture verse Haggs. I'm not seeing any gloating though in my post. I wish Looby the best… may she get paid double at her next job and find all the happiness she seeks.

I am glad to see the justice of God once in a while and I'm not referring to Looby. But like on Hannity and Colmes the other night when the dark underside of Planned Parenthood gets exposed, I'm delighted. Their downfall means life to millions and victory and celebration is fully appropriate and scriptural.

Would you have thrown that verse at MLK Jr. as he joyously rallied congregations at the various points of victory along his road to freedom? Be sure to check out the verses that preceed the one you've shared with me (vss 11-12) and you'll see what drives us.

Haggs @ 8:57 am

No, but I seriously doubt MLK Jr. every cheered when someone lost their job.

Thank you for all you do!!!

We wondered if you had heard the story "Sing a little louder" or seen the video?

The story is known by the title "Sing a little louder" and is a testimony shared by a German Jew who watched from his church each week trains carrying Jews into a concentration camp. As a church, they decided to just sing a little louder because they did not want to get involved with what was happening. Many years later, as he listened to a woman share her testimony here in America; he wept and stated the same thing is happening here in America as it did in Germany. Christians have learned to just sing a little louder regarding abortion. If the slaughter of millions of innocent babies does not get the church to act, what will?

You can see the 30 second spot on either godtube or youtube below.

Or watch the 2 1/2 minute video here: http://operationvoice.org

We were so moved by this powerful testimony that we made the video (with Penny Lea's permission). Please feel free to use the videos in any way you would like. Our prayer is that the videos will be a tool to reach those who have never thought about abortion before.

Thank you!

Michele
