Obama, quick, think of a screenplay idea, it's almost Oscar nomination time

If it's true, and it surely is, that winning the Nobel Peace Prize today was "nothing the President sought" then he should rise above the undue adulation of his fan club and say, "Thanks, I'm delighted you support my ideas, but I cannot accept an award given to me for just two weeks in office." Instead Obama accepts and says he's "humbled." Baloney. He's saying he accepts this exaltation and the multiple millions in award money.

I think someone needs to quickly call Chris Matthews and see if he's still alive - the intensity of the leg shrill he surely got this morning just may have been overwhelming for a man his age. Two White House aides thought they were being punked when they heard the news, one quipped, Is it April 1st?  My response would have been… every day in this White House is Fools Day.

Best line of the day on this, and I know it's not yet even 9 AM - but since we are giving out awards prematurely, Pat Powers posted this morning titled "I guess that award has lost any meaning." Commenting on how nominations for this years Nobel Peace Prize were due in February, just two weeks after Obama took office, Powers offer this line which I've borrowed for my title here… "If we’re basing awards on ideas and possibilities now, Obama had better quickly come up with an idea for a screenplay.  It’s almost Oscar nomination time."

A runner up favorite line for me is a comment in the Washington Post today noting how the prize has been reduced to a joke and suggests Paris Hilton get it next year for International "relations."

Nominations were due February 1, just 11 days after Obama took office. Historians need to wake up and write some books on these ELEVEN DAYS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD. If you'll recall, these were days when Obama made haste to undo restrictions on exporting abortion globally.

As you can see, I'm back now to playing my one note here. It's surreal to see the world's leading perpetrator of unbridled violence against innocent, vulnerable and helpless humanity be given a prize for peace. I guess we were warned of these days when people will be saying peace, peace when there is no peace.

I guess the Nobel Peace Prize can also go to those who try to create a "false" peace as well. I would just like someone to name one GOOD thing that man has done.
