Palin envy and killer feminism
Spectacular speech last night from Gov. Sarah Palin. Does anyone remember anything Joe Biden said in his speech? Did he even speak? I don't remember. I usually fall asleep looking at him. Tell me again why the party of "change" picked Joe Boring? Oh yes, because Barry is just beginning his "journey of personal discovery."
Palin envy has fully struck the false feminist left. It's getting pathetic. This out of the Boston Herald this morning. Drawing attention to her up-do, the caption under Palin's photo reads "Girls just want to have bun."
Yes, Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin has a lot on her plate: a pregnant teen daughter, a son on his way to Iraq, an infant with Down syndrome and a looming national election. But must her hair suffer? With her long, straight, often pinned-up locks, Palin looks one humid day away from fronting a Kiss cover band.
“It’s about 20 years out of date,” said Boston stylist Mario Russo of the Alaska governor’s ’do. “Which goes to show how off she might be on current events.”
Do we really want to talk about a VP candidate's hair (plugs)? Maybe John Edward's stylist has an opening. On second thought, this gal Palin fired the cook in the Alaska Governor's mansion because she can both bring home the bacon and fry it up in the pan. No need to waste any government money. In light of that Palin surely won't being paying Edward's stylist $400 a day to comb her hair.
I think she looks fine, though admittedly I really have no fashion sense at all. It did dawn on me that the only additional thing Palin could have done different would have been to walk out on that stage in an orange pants suit. At that point, any remaining women of out the 18 million would have instantly defected camp Obama forever. Imagine that… an orange pants suit against a royal blue back drop… it would have been a perfect photo op for Palin's endorsement picture for the VoteYesForLife.com campaign here in South Dakota. (For my out of state readers, Vote Yes campaign colors are blue/orange.)
Dakota UnWomanly took in the speech together last night like a bunch of middle school girls going to the bathroom together. I asked the true feminists in my home last night for a comment on that as it's a bit harder for a guy to put words to it. I got the teacher look, the rolled up eyes and these words… catty bitchin'
Here's where we move into the realm of killer feminism. Former Planned Parenthood president Gloria Feldt is suggesting Palin is making her daughter keep the baby. Feldt suggests Governor Palin’s pro-life views may have made it so she and her husband Todd prevented Bristol from getting an abortion. Speaking of seventeen year old pregnant Bristol Palin, Feldt says;
She probably feels powerless right now… Because of her family's attitude she probably doesn't feel that she has a choice in terms of what will happen to her… Her mother is weaving a narrative that it's a heroic thing of course that she is going forward with the pregnancy, she's getting married and it will all be beautiful and rosy…
I'll let Wendy Wright, the head of Concerned Women for America respond here to Feldt because I might swear again.
In Gloria Feldt’s bizarre world, families that cherish children are toxic. If the goal is to reduce the number of abortions, surely the first step is to allow families to love and embrace their children, not reject the weak and inconvenient. She seems to hope that Bristol, who grew up in a Christian family that clearly cherishes children and even recently embraced a special needs child, would choose abortion and be proud of it. It may be difficult for Gloria to understand that people could love an unexpected child, a welcome surprise. But to project her contempt for babies onto others, and refuse to allow that a teenager could want a baby is narcissistic.
Gloria’s condescension toward young pregnant women exposes the business model of Planned Parenthood. It is inconceivable to them that a woman would want an unexpected baby. This narrow-minded approach should clang warning bells about how Planned Parenthood treats its clients as if they are people who need to be separated from their families and disabused of any desire to mother their baby.
Feldt needs to understand that her comments could go the other way — that parents could just as quickly force their daughters to have an abortion. Would Gloria as quickly agree that a teenager whose parents are pro-abortion may be coerced into an unwanted abortion? And, since everyone knows abortion is available but not all know that life-affirming help is available, would she agree that teenagers – especially those of pro-abortion parents – should have access to pro-life options?
Gov. Palin’s announcement noted that the road won’t be easy for Bristol. But Feldt refuses to acknowledge that abortion carries far more harmful consequences without the rewards and joys that children bring.
My ears just popped while you were reading that - I'm thinking Obama's ratings are going down faster than the nation expected.

So in other words Gloria Feldt not only want's to destroy the life of one child, but 2?
Sounds like she is sniper looking for the highest profile target she can find. I wonder if she has a list of peoples baby's she would like to kill tucked in her purse.

"Catty bitchin'" is a phrase that "true feminists" use?
Swing…….and a miss, Steve-o.

Swing and a miss? Look in the catchers mit - no ball. The ball is sitting in the grass on the other side of the left field fence. It's even dented. I realize you all are in a daze these past few days, but it looks like this ball shot past you so fast you missed it altogether. I'll try to slow down for you.
You need to meet some of these true feminists - they are strong. Right now they are staring down Roe v Wade. Look out.

1. I think you took that sports metaphor a bit too far, Steve-o. Yikes.
2. If the best your "true feminist(s?) can do is "catty bitchin'" I can't wait to see what happens in November.
3. I thought your "true feminists" have been staring down Roe for the last 35 years (give or take). Guess they're taking their own sweet time….or maybe they just can't find Supreme Court justices willing to overturn 35 years of precedent.

I guess when the liberal media got their skirt hiked (Nahum 3:5) by palin's speech, they lashed back by …. criticizing her hair? Wow, I'm impressed!

The MSM is STILL wondering why the "fundies in the Heartland" haven't driven Palin out of the race because her 17 yr old daughter is PREGNANT!! (shock, shock)
They "elites" REALLY don't understand anyone, or anything, outside of their own narrow preconceptions.
"No thanks Obama, I already HAVE a Messiah!"

What I find so interesting is how threatened the gals at Dakota Unwomanly are by "the baby." And then, to acknowledge the "baby daddy". Does that mean it's not a fetus to them anymore?
