Planned Parental Suppression

Today the South Dakota Senate Health and Human Services Committee will meet to consider SB 164 - Contraception as Public Policy of State. It's likely it'll pass committee and go to a vote on the floor as several of the committee members sponsored the bill.

Among other things this bill states…

"it is the public policy of this state that the interest in freedom from unreasonable governmental intrusions in the private lives of citizens, and specifically the right of consenting individuals to obtain and use safe and effective methods of contraception without interference by governmental entities…"

Here's what I want, I want a bill that limits unreasonable governmental intrusions in the daily age-old responsibilities of PARENTS to be actively involved in all matters pertaining to their children lives and futures.

SB 164 talks about sex between "consenting individuals" and, interestingly, there is no mention of age. So, teachers and school counselors and nurses would be mandated by our government to give contraception to any student, in any situation, no matter the child's age… WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEIR PARENTS. Doctors could prescribe contraceptives to kids WITHOUT NOTIFYING THEIR PARENTS. Do you see it? Oh the irony, this bill mandates government intrusion all the while its stated purpose is to limit governmental intrusion. These people, the "healthy families" people, are remarkably successful at taking words that sound good to put on the bad things they really want to do.

Of course, surprise!, Planned Parenthood and NARAL are behind this bill. Their names are so deceiving - for the sake of truth in advertising the government should rename them "Planned Parental Suppression" and "Child Abuse, Inc." It is the mission of these organizations to eliminate parents from the face of the earth first by aborting children and second by keeping any remaining parental traditional values away from kids so kids have more kids that they can kill.

Please, if you are from South Dakota and you want less governmental intrusion, contact the Senators and urge them to vote NO on SB 164. Tell the government to stay out of your children's bedrooms. Here's the link to the legislators automated webmail.
