Prayer Meetings planned for April 26 at every state's Supreme Court

On Saturday, April 26th Bound4LIFE and theCall will be mobilizing Christians to gather at Supreme Courts in all 50 states along with the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington, DC. This is an urgent call to prayer to join with thousands across the nation for a simultaneous Silent Siege of every Supreme Court. Coinciding with Passover, the purpose of this day will be to stand in silent prayer before the doors of our justice system and plead the blood of Jesus. During this season of Passover, this is about pleading for mercy for our nation for the sin of shedding innocent blood

In 2008, America finds herself in a place similar to that of 1860… a nation laden with the guilt of her innocent dead. In the 1860’s, the issue was slavery. Today, we bear the guilt of 50 million unborn babies. The heart of the Lord is every bit as moved today as it was then. Abraham Lincoln, speaking at his second inaugural address, drew a direct connection between the heart of God and the Civil War…

Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue . . . until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said “the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”

America is facing a dire crisis. If 600,000 men died in the battlefields of the Civil War-both north and south, black and white-for the shed blood of the slaves, then what will it mean to America-black and white and north and south-if God brings a day of reckoning for the shed blood of 50 million babies?

In the twilight hours before God’s most severe judgment on Egypt, the blood of the lamb applied to the doorpost caused judgement to “pass over” that home. Jesus is our Passover Lamb, and it is His blood that must be applied without delay to the doorposts of our national guilt.

Amy Hofer is leading efforts to organize South Dakota's Mercy Seat gathering at the Supreme Court of our state in Pierre. Here's her invitation to you:

South Dakota stands at the crossroads of history. As individuals we have all had occasion to throw ourselves on the mercy of the Lord, and come to His Mercy Seat for the cleansing of our sins. God now calls us to come with Him again to the Mercy Seat; this time for the cleansing of the sins of our nation. The Lord, in His enduring grace, has given the people of our great state another chance to end abortion. Millions of lives hang in the balance. The Church in South Dakota must rise up now and heed the clarion call for LIFE! On Passover, April 26th, 2008 (how divinely appropriate) we will join together as a state - and as a nation - to pray as one voice for the Mercy of God and the ending of abortion in America.

On occasion, I'm asked what's up with the "siege" terminology and the red "LIFE" tape over people's mouths? The siege terminology comes from Ezekiel 4:2-3 and it's used to describe erecting a wall of intercession against an evil stronghold. Bound4Life creates a line, a wall, along a sidewalk to contend in prayer for LIFE.

The red LIFE tape came about as a result of a dream in October 2004. After an extended fast for the ending of abortion, a college student had a dream about a sea of people gathered in DC but their mouths were covered with red tape that had the word "LIFE" written on it. The dream released this strategy that has been captured by media worldwide. Wearing the tape distinguishes those gathered that this is not a protest, it's a prayer meeting. "When life tape is placed over over mouths, we are identifying with the silent screams of the unborn and those who have no voice. We make our appeal to the Judge of the earth and ask him for speedy justice to be released. Oh that God would subpoena the conscience of the nation!" It's a silence that speaks louder than words. (Interesting that in 1929, racist Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger put tape over her mouth at Boston's Ford Hall when civic authorities forbid her to speak because she advocated eliminating those she called "human weeds" meaning, Blacks. I find it just like God to resurrect the tape over the mouth, this time using the color of blood to symbolize LIFE.)

Bound4Life uses a 22-word prayer that was written to replace the 22-word prayer that was taken out of public schools in the 1962 court case Engel v Vitale. Jesus, I plead your Blood over my sins and the sins of my nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America. Psalm 2 makes it clear that there is court higher than any other court in our land - that is, the Court of Heaven.
