Praying for Sarah Palin

This is a day late but I decided not to post it yesterday because I was hesitant to give those with darkened spiritual understanding more to laugh at. But, today I risk that to get a few more people praying… God is raising up an Esther to play a key role in reversing the decree of death. Yesterday there was a prayer surge throughout the nation for Sarah Palin. This came from Lou Engle…
As you know, for years we have stood in prayer for the ending of abortion. Tuesday night a key friend of mine received this dream:
I had a very short dream, yet it is an exhortation to pray for the vice presidential debate this Thursday evening. In the dream, I was reading Friday's paper (the day after the debate). There were two papers. One said, "Palin hits a home run," while the second said, "Palin strikes out." As I was looking at those two papers, I found myself back at the debate and saw the darkness and powers surrounding the event. Great darkness had been assigned to the debate, and the church was not seeing it nor taking it soberly.Would you pray with thousands of others today and during the debate tonight for God's supernatural hand to attend this profound Esther moment? Thank you!
Many of us are smiling this morning at headlines like this, and this, and this. The graphic above comes from this new website encouraging prayer for Sarah Palin.
Take note of what "eyes" people are looking at Palin through. Most are still only looking at her through fleshly not spiritual eyes.

Just like Christ explaining the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets to His disciples on the road to Emmaus…non-believers, and many who say they are believers fall into the "2 Corinthians 4:4" group…not believing beucase they are blinded.
John 4:10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”
John 4:48 Jesus asked, “Will you never believe in me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?”
I so enjoy seeing visions, prophecy, & promises fulfilled.

Another "home run" headline here… http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=28858

Steve, I admire the pro-life posts, but this is really out there. Sarah Palin is not Esther; there is no American exceptionalism; the United States is not God's people.

I wanted to let you know how excited I was to see your website. I was prompted by God to pray for Sarah yesterday, and was laboring in prayer for her. How blessed I am to see others touched by the Spirit of God….

*Note to Joel. I'm sure that Steve was not saying that Sarah IS Esther…rather that this is her "Esther moment". Lets not get too carried away here…

I believe this dream is a little odd. 2 headlines what does that mean? Covering his bases? Sounds a little “fortuneteller-ish” It seems this dream is birthed out of flesh rather than Spirit. What I find troubling are Christians, in which I am, are wanting God to thrust himself into our political system and expecting the government political system to be the savior or reviving of the American church. In which case we just might get Barak Obama….yuck! I believe the devil has gotten us sidetracked to believe the battle is in our political system. Jesus himself did not thrust himself into the political system. In fact he says in John 18:36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place.” I don’t know how Jesus can make it any clearer.
If Christians want to change their city, state, country here is some great advice. The bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. This is a word to the church, not America as a whole, not unbelievers, but to the church! We’ve made it about us and them. We need to get “us” right!
Unfortunately the church has lost its moral authority. The statistics for divorce, adultery, teen pregnancy, sex outside of marriage, greed etc. are equally if not more higher in the church than in the world. Therefore 2 Chronicles 7:14 applies more than ever to the church.
We need godly men and women to serve in our government. And praying for our leaders is very biblical, something we must do. But when we look to our government as our source for shaping and molding society, this is idolatry.
Is the arm of the Lord too short to save!? It is not! However if we rely on the political system for “change” we just might get what we asked for. If we can get “us” right (the church) God will put the right person in office. (John 19:11)

President James A. Garfield (the 20th President, and a minister of the Gospel during the Second Great Awakening) said this in 1876:
“Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave, and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent them in the national legislature. . . . [I]f the next centennial does not find us a great nation . . . it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.”
