Radical feminists starting to reject South Dakota Planned Parenthood campaign slogan - "Let Families Decide"
Shannon over at StandUPSD - Planned Parenthood's blog - is "thrilled" at the "exciting opportunity" to be invited to guest post for a couple of weeks on one of America's radical feminist websites - Feministe. It's just so fun and exciting to join with other extremists. I thought the Campaign for UNHealthy Families was supposed to be about mid-western, family-type values - you know, "let families decide."
What's interesting is the comments starting to come against Shannon in her debut post in Feministe regarding Planned Parenthood's new "let families decide" campaign slogan which is being marketed across our state right now. Apparently, the radical feminists reject it too.
Neko Onna says: I understand why the catchphrase “let families decide” was chosen, but it still rubs me the wrong way. Let women decide. Period. They don’t need “families” or “doctors” or “clergy” to “help” them make they decision. If a woman chooses to consult someone else about termination, fine. But the decision is always the woman’s, and the woman’s alone.Lisa says: Shannon, could you address Neko’s comment? I was mulling this over as well when I read your post and I do think I get it - reaching the largest common denominator, etc…but it kind of reminds me of the contraception commercial that was posted this week. Women don’t generally use birth control to control their periods, but this is how pills are marketed. “Families” making decisions about abortion was also not the feminist goal of the reproductive rights movement….or at least it wasn’t the goal of under-privileged, non-middle class non-white women…add to that most middle class white women as well.
Even the anti-life extremists know this attempt at marketing is fully disingenious with regard to the real agenda of Planned Parenthood.

Odd how Shannon can get so pumped up about destroying life. May God have mercy on her and our nation.

Is it such a bad thing that someone to join a feminist blog? According to Webster’s feminist is defined as:
"1 - the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes, 2 - organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests"
Do you not agree with this movement? Do you not feel that women deserve equal rights? As a group who is concerned with the sanctity of life, don't you think that these lives you are trying to protect deserve equal rights no matter what the sex is? Perhaps you should stick to the issues instead of making personal attacks on people.

Angela - absolutely I agree with #1, #2. You have no idea how much I've stood for women's rights in the church and outside the church. I've taken tons of heat and criticism for a chapter I wrote in one of my books called "Releasing Women Everywhere." People have left our church because of my "feminism." Hah. I've taken on the established church as I've pushed for women in all forms of ministry, women in all forms of leadership, and women as THE greatest threat to the serpent the devil. It'll be HER heel that'll crush his head.
In fact, I teach on the Deborah anointing, the Hannah anointing, and the Esther anointing. Unless you have some level of Biblical literacy, I may have fully lost you there and in what follows. But I will say God raised up Esther to risk her life to go before the king on behalf of a group of people who were destined to slaughter. Her activism and intercession resulted in the reversal of the death decree. What we are seeing with women standing up on behalf of the unborn is the manifestation of the ancient mantle of Esther. It won't be a man who rises up and leads the way for the reversal of Roe v. Wade, it'll be an Esther, or an Army of Esthers. She is rising in the land - nationally. Enough on that.
The feminism fueling Planned Parenthood isn't godly and you know it. The naked gal flipping off the world is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of anger and sexism on that blog. This isn't a personal attack on anyone. And I'm not off the issues at hand. I'm illustrating how those with extreme values which would be instantly rejected by most South Dakotans are the very values fueling the real masterminds behind the Campaign for UNhealthy families. Thanks for commenting.

Wrong website. The logo you have has been in effect in some incarnation for several years.
Moreover, Feministe could hardly be considered a "radical feminist" website, and many radical feminists would be insulted by that accusation. But thanks for the links!

Lauren - you're welcome for the links. And thank you for the website correction.
