SD Dept of Health threatens to revoke Planned Parenthood's license
It's about time. Finally, after an entire year of blatantly disregarding state law, the state moves to do something about it. Here's what the Argus Leader is reporting:
The Department of Health has formally threatened to suspend the license of South Dakota’s only abortion facility for failing to make certain disclosures to clients.
In a letter dated Aug. 7, health officials say that during an inspection in May, Planned Parenthood failed to provide a pregnant woman with several pieces of information required by law. The letter gives Planned Parenthood until Aug. 22 to submit a plan of correction.
The same issues are tied up in a federal lawsuit Planned Parenthood filed against the state in 2005. The abortion provider maintains it doesn’t have to follow a script written by the state and that sections of the informed consent law are inaccurate or unconstitutional.
Both sides made oral arguments on motions for summary judgment July 17 in U.S. District Court in Sioux Falls. Judge Karen Schreier has yet to rule; she could decide in favor of either party or send it to trial.
The letter of deficiency is the result of a July 30 meeting between Planned Parenthood and health officials. The parties worked toward an interim agreement that would stay enforcement of the law, but none was reached.
“We knew if we didn’t reach an interim agreement with them then this would occur,” Planned Parenthood spokeswoman Kathi Di Nicola said of the deficiency notice. “It’s procedural, to an extent.”
Di Nicola wouldn’t speak to the details of that meeting.
Planned Parenthood on Tuesday asked Schreier for a temporary restraining order, which would preclude the state from carrying out sanctions against the facility until the judge has ruled on the motions for summary judgment.
The state has not yet responded to that request.
We know of women who have had abortions in the last year who regret them and say they would not have had them if they were provided the information the law requires they be provided. The state is vulnerable to a class action lawsuit as long as they refuse to insist on explicit compliance to the law. Planned Parenthood must use the state forms and they refuse to do so. The DOH has the authority to insist state forms are sued and revoke licenses and board up chops shops that don't. Planned Parenthood should get immediately shut down like every other shoddy outfit in the state - restaurants, whatever. This is ridiculous. The law is the law and they aren't above it. Make some noise people, make some noise.

Question: If you were a priest, and the law said you MUST lie to your parishoners about Scripture, would you obey the law and lie, or would you refuse?

Operation Counterstrike… also SingingZombie, SoMG, etc. All these deceptive alias' makes it hard to keep up. I keep deleting most of his comments and threats against the lives of pro-lifers but I thought I'd let this one through.
Planned Parenthood isn't espousing anything remotely close to Scripture. Science has provided medical truth and those truths aren't good for Planned Parenthood's bottom line or agenda. Bummer for them. The state has a vested interest to make sure women are given scientific truth.
PP has had several chances to provide any sort of scientific or medical information to back what they want to tell women and the court ruled they were able to provide NONE. So, like any other legit medical procedure, facts are what women are to be told.

First of all their could never be a law that requires what you stated. There would be multiple constitutional violations, and there isn't a high court anywhere in this country that would uphold it.
Second, nothing in the informed consent form is a lie, therefore PP is not being asked to lie.

I think a good way to respond to the murder of Dr. Tiller would be for someone to kill Professor Robert P. George of Princeton. He's one of the most reputable right-to-lifers in the world.
His office is 244 Corwin Hall on the Princeton campus.

Planned Parenthood is a criminal child killing organization which has NO moral or human values. They will do anything and everything with which they can get away.
A pro-life state government should shut down for as long as possible any criminal abortionist killing facility which commits ANY technical violation of ANY statute. The whole idea is to stop these criminals killing people. Shut them down as soon as you can whenever you can. Make it impossible for them to operate and save as many lives as you can.
That the state government does not do this is yet another example of born humans, even "pro-life" ones, not treating unborn human beings as real human beings. They would act very quickly if born human beings were being destroyed, but for some reason they feel that the unborn don't really matter.

Can you imagine the immediate and intense public/media response and the response of law enforcement if a pro-life person was posting the type of incitements to violence that "OperationCounterstrike, aka Singing Zombie, SoMG" is posting here and on his blog?? Or, if that statement above had Obama's name and address and not a pro-lifers address?? This guy would have a secret service visit by noon today and he'd be locked up.

Feel free to report this guy. I already have and nothing seems to come of it. Kind of like what's going on with Planned Parenthood in our state and nation. They do whatever they want and no one enforces the law. They are getting away with murder and amazingly those of us who try to stop them are the ones who end up on the enemies list of der Führer. In fact, just like in Germany in the 30's and 40's, the government of the US is now openly asking citizens to report rumors, the contents of casual conversations and the contents of emails and blogs that oppose the state-mandated propaganda of the Reich. Imagine if Bush would have tried this kind of thing - the media would have eaten him alive. But with Obama, there aren't even any waves. It's mystifying really. The nation is under the spell. The same demonic spirit that rose up in Germany in the 1930's and 40's is operating in America today.
