SD suddenly ENTHUSIASTIC on legislation related to the unborn

How is it we go from a supposed extreme level of "voter fatique" in South Dakota on legislation related to unborn human life to now we have supposedly… "tapped into a wellspring of enthusiasm" ?? That's what Dave Volk is telling reporters regarding the statewide response he is getting to his efforts to amend out language banning embryonic stem cell experimentation on our 2010 ballot. These hallucinations of his that our state is even remotely excited about this makes me wonder what the guy is snorting.

The Argus forgot to mention it, but the Yankton Press & Dakotan did include the very important fact that those behind Volk in this effort are his Tom Daschle and Planned Parenthood friends - yes the very same masters of deceptive euphamisms, those who gave us the Campaign for (Un)healthy Families. It's the same people, with the same agenda, just with a new but equally deceiving name, South Dakotans for Lifesaving Cures.

What they, and the Argus, fail to tell people is that there have been NO cures or benefits uncovered in ANY embryonic stem cell research EVER! This is a bait and switch if there ever was one. South Dakota already has the best ban on cloning in America and what these folks are advocating is nothing more than a "clone and kill" bill with loopholes the size of Texas.

Get ready for them to pull on the heartstrings. But after the sad story, ask… isn't it true that adult stem cells work, but that embryonic stem cells only mutate?  Ask… it's already legal to research adult stem cells and since those are the ones that have cured 73 different conditions to date, without the enormous ethical baggage of ending a human life, why take our state through another bloody battle over the issue of the humanity of the unborn?

But Volk says "It’s pro-life because it will save lives" - and therefore it fits "his stand against abortion." It fits his "stand against abortion" alright. The Argus needs to ask him how he voted in 2006 and 2008 on abortion and determine from that whether he is indeed "pro-life."  If he's pro-life, I'm Muslim.

Sanford Health has $30,000,000 invested in embryonic stem cell research but again Cindy Morrison, vice president of public policy for Sanford, wants us to believe…

Sanford currently does no research involving stem cells and will take no position on the ballot measure… Sanford Health itself is taking no position on the unfolding controversy, nor will it restrain employees from taking a part.

The last phrase says a lot doesn't it?
