SD "We Love All Abortions" rally poorly attended, not family friendly

UPDATED - See below

The much publicised anti-life rally happened at noon today here in Sioux Falls. The Argus Leader has a short report on it already.  The first sentence made me LOL…

More than two dozen opponents of a South Dakota measure to ban most abortions in the state rallied Monday downtown, three weeks before voters decide the issue’s fate.

WOW. More than two dozen??  Two hundred turned out in Watertown alone last Wednesday to hear me speak about voting YES on Initiated Measure 11. A couple dozen is all the VOTE NO nuts could rally?? Hmm. I guess most people are just happy this time around the bill has the exceptions for rape and incest. Only the die-hard radicals are left to continue the fight.

Those who love abortion need to make sure they plan these things when their busloads of out-of-town college students are in town so it at least appear they have some kind of momentum. I guess they'll have to continue to use the '06 rally photos when they send out their fundraising emails so it looks like they got some in-state support here.

Vote Yes supporters decided to ignore it this year. In '06 VoteYes'rs showed up and sent up 800 balloons at the conclusion of the Vote No rally that year (the balloons represented the 800 children killed each year in South Dakota). All the anti-lifers just stood there with their mouths open looking at the balloons go up.

I hear they missed us this year. Of course there were a few ears from our side in the area.  One of them told me some scary looking whacked out high school kid with a bullhorn whipped the crowd into a molech-possessed frenzy chanting… we drink blood… yes we do - or, maybe it was "VOTE NO, ON ELEVEN." I can't remember exactly. I did hear a mom who was in the area with her kids stayed in her car because she was afraid to get out of her car when she saw the people at the demonstration - her comment was something about it not being a family friendly - and that she found the crowd a bit ironic considering these were the supposed "healthy families" people - she said no families were there. I asked her to email me her relections on the gathering so that may be forthcoming.

Drinking Blood??  UPDATED 10/26/10

My "drinking blood" comment here in this paragraph

has since been misrepresented

to mean I've said pro-choice people drink blood. No I'm not saying anything of the sort - at best this was a poor attempt at snark.  When you talk and write as much as I do you'll say things on occasion that require clarification later. In dozens of different posts on this blog I discuss at length the spiritual dynamics behind abortion and the present-era manifestation of ancient Molech worship and the forms child sacrifice takes today. Molech, the ancient god of child sacrifice, fed off the blood of the sons and daughters of men. I contend those same dark forces operate behind the respectability facade of Planned Parenthood and my snark here was to say the crowd may have been chanting VOTE NO ON ELEVEN but those with ears to hear discern the voice of Molech clammering for more blood. Graphic stuff for sure and easy to miscontrue, thus the clarification. Abortion is bloody. It is nothing short of the shedding of innocent blood.

UPDATED Here's the report fresh off my email…

I found it very interesting that for a mantra of "Let Families Decide", I did not see one family consisting of a mom, dad and child. I guess I wouldn't want my children exposed to that crowd either. What I did witness was a group of angry women shouting chants, being lead by a high school young man with a large microphone. Did you catch that? Cheers being led by a high school male, angry women? This does this represent a "reasonable" South Dakota Citizen. I also wonder how many of these women actually were from South Dakota? I find it ironic that these are the same people that call Initiated Measure 11 "extreme." What I saw today, were extremists, who, 2 years ago cried foul about needing exceptions and now are showing their true colors by wanting abortion on demand for any reason at all.

If this was truly organized by Elaine Roberts and Jan Nicholi who tout their experience in education and with children, God help the children of our state. It gives me no peace to know that it is these same women who, alongside of advocating for better education for the fortunate ones who are allowed to be born alive, are also advocating that a kindergarten class gets snuffed out each week.

What's missing here in her report is a word she used on the phone earlier to try and communicate the frenzy level she witnessed. She describe the crowd as… "rabid." That conjured up images in my mind of foaming at the mouth.

Comments on SD "We Love All Abortions" rally poorly attended, not family friendly »

Marcee @ 6:00 pm

The atmosphere outside was ominous Saturday. It felt like there was some occult activity taking place in this city. I felt the presence of evil in the atmosphere over this city before, but not to the extend that it was on Saturday. Maybe Planned Parenthood was "preying" (that's what I mean, "preying," not "praying") for people to come to their rally today. That wierd feeling in the air was enough to make me engage in more than an hour of spiritual warfare. The devil was exposed for who he is - the father of lies, deceit and deception.

As for the "rally"…. See? South Dakota is a proLIFE state! Let me guess that the majority of those anti-lifer's were from out of state. Was the kid with the bullhorn the same one, who had that strange t-shirt on at Lifelight? You know what I am talking about.

I attended Augustana College's parade on Oct. 4th. There was a very small group of students for choice (maybe 8 max.) marching with signs that said, "Vote No on Measure 11." They were looking around frantically, like they were wondering if anyonen was on their side. Then! About three people to our left started cheering and clapping. They looked gothic, acted like they were possessed, too, and probably were. The students ran towards those wild people as they frantically grabbed for "Vote No" stickers. Those were probably the only people in the whole crowd, who were pro-death. Everyone else remained quiet. I prayed that the Lord would change the hearts of those students and that the deception that has them blinded would fall off. It was encouraging that only a small handful of students were on the pro-death side. Makes me proud of my alma mater! The prayer groups on campus at Augie are very effective! Praise God!

Marcee @ 6:08 pm

Of course there were no families at this rally. Those, who would make up the family unit, have all been aborted!

suzie @ 6:58 pm

Steve…

Once again you are wrong…. there were many more people than a couple dozen. Otherwise, why would someone be fearful.

Also, there were families there. The person sending you that email was mistaken…. there was a woman her husband and their child who even spoke on stage.

Perhaps they're not a legitimate family because their child is adopted. Hmm…. seems to me that actually is a healthy family. Isn't that what you all advocate for?

Perhaps the media that was there captured some shots of them to prove my point.

As for the scary high schooler. I am not sure you want to go there. Some might consider you or your source racist.

Steve @ 7:17 pm

Susie - welcome back. I'm quoting the Argus on the "more than two dozen" people - complain to them.

Legitimate family? Nonsense. I'm curious now though, what do you over at UNHealthy Families mean by "family?" I'll wait for that answer. I know you don't mean a mom and a dad or you wouldn't fight parental notification.

Racism? Whatever. You have no idea the variety of colors of the key people in my life. That guy looked and acted crazy. And color has nothing to do with my assessment there. I've spent a lot of years in big cities and one person acting erratically can make you fearful.

momoffour @ 7:49 pm

I think the family Susie is talking about is the one and only Shannon Stevens from StandUpSD. I find it very ironic that a couple who has the privilege of adoption would also support abortion. Do they not realize how fortunate it is that the birth mother of their child didn't listen to Shannon's own arguments as to why abortion is such a great option?
And BTW Suzie, you mentioned one family, where there any others?
As far a the accusation of racist, I think Suzie better do her homework on the origins of Planned Parenthood. Even as to recent months, Planned Parenthood has been caught on tape accepting donations to abort African Americans. I wonder if this high schooler is aware of the true agenda of the organization he fighting alongside of.

oldhand @ 8:01 pm

I happened to drive by this rally today. There was a high school student who seemed to be acting kind of crazy, but I doubt anyone noticed or cared.

My best estimate is somewhere between 50 and 100 people. Certainly a lot more than "two dozen". And I saw plenty of nuclear families too.

At least we're talking about the issues here.

anonymous @ 9:34 pm

Oldhand, are you kidding me? That kid leading chants with the megaphone looked and acted possessed. If you doubt anyone noticed, you must be referring to the other abortion-worshipers there, as any sane and rational person finds that sort of behavior bizarre. I can't imagine this group rallied any SD voters with their hysterical ranting today.

I did see that Suzy Blake, candidate for state house, attended. She apparently thinks associating with extremists is representative of voters in district 13. She will find out differently on Nov. 4th, thank God.

Also, the teenage son of Scott Heidepriem was smugly strutting around, touting the merits of killing children. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. And what's with these couple of teenage boys so obsessed with keeping abortion legal? Creepy!!
