South Dakota Health Care Freedom Act on the ballot in November??

On Monday state Senator Gordan Howie resubmitted the South Dakota Health Care Freedom Act seeking to insulate South Dakota from Obamacare.  The state senate again rejected the bill, this time the vote was 14 yeas-20 nays. Here's how the vote broke down:

Yeas: Abdallah; Adelstein; Brown; Gant; Garnos; Gray; Haverly; Howie; Nelson; Novstrup (Al); Olson (Russell); Rhoden; Schmidt; Tieszen

Nays: Ahlers; Bartling; Bradford; Dempster; Fryslie; Gillespie; Hansen (Tom); Hanson (Gary); Heidepriem; Hundstad; Hunhoff (Jean); Jerstad; Kloucek; Knudson; Merchant; Miles; Nesselhuf; Peterson; Turbak Berry; Vehle

Regardless of whether or not the attorney general's are successful in fighting the constitutionality of Obamacare, Howie is leading a petition drive to get this on the November ballot.

Sen. Gordon Howie has taken out a petition on our behalf to put the issue of federally mandated health insurance on the ballot in November!  We need 16,000 signatures on the petition by Tuesday, April 6th at close of business.  Our goal is to have 30,000 signatures by 5pm on Monday!  Can you help us reach that goal?  It sounds overwhelming, but it is not!  If we can get just 1000 people to help us collect signatures, those people would only have to get thirty people each to sign!  Let's get out there and fight the good fight!

 This is the verbiage:

Title: An Act to nullify certain Federal health care laws within the state of South Dakota

Pursuant to the ninth and tenth amendments to the United States Constitution, any law by Congress which interferes with the right of any person or entity to choose their personal physician, private health care systems or private health care coverage, or which imposes any penalty, tax, fee, or fine, of any type, for declining to purchace health care coverage or participate in any particular health care system or plan, is null and void within the state of South Dakota.

Glad to see you folks are acknowledging health care is a right.

Now, will you be adding Medicare and the Voting Rights Act to federal legislation South Dakota is authorized to nullify? How about the Selective Service? Income tax? Heck, why not just save the trouble of going law by law and secede from the Union?

This petition drive is all South Carolina, 1830s, Calhoun conservatism.

…and maybe nullify minimum wage laws, too?

You're like a broken record, Cory. When you're not busy desperately trying to justify socialism and theft, you're busy throwing around Soviet-style lies, e.g. implying conservatives are racists when it has been your own party that has fought for slavery, racism, segregation, and remains obsessed with skin color over character.

And while I'm sure you'd love to see patriotic Americans give up on our country and leave it to you socialists, it isn't going to happen. We've allowed you spoiled children to run loose for too long, and we're gearing up to clean house and render some much-needed spankings.

You socialists have ruined enough countries around the world; we're not going to surrender the United States to your bankrupt ideas as well.
