The fine print… this law has exceptions.

If you read the fine print of ANY piece of legislation there are sections where you will find technical language, details and legaleeze. Initiated Measure 11 is no different.The Campaign for UNHealthy Families is trying to confuse voters saying Initiated Measure 11 is beyond the IQ of a South Dakota voter.  I saw a 30 second commercial last night with this message "Read the Fine Print" and the ad directs people to this website - www.readthefineprint.org  A fundraising email went out today from Michelle Trupiano of UNHealthy Families which started out this way….

Have you tried to read the fine print of South Dakota's Initiated Measure 11? If not, put on a pot of coffee - because this could take a while. The 2,400 words that make up South Dakota's new abortion ban are so full of complicated jargon and dangerously vague exceptions that it's impossible for anyone without a law degree to understand. We've launched a new ad and website to explain the facts behind Measure 11 - and we need as many people as possible to see it. Please read the fine print now, and then forward this site to your family and friends: www.readthefineprint.org

The bottom line is the game is to throw FOG in the air and confuse people - "impossible for anyone without a law degree to understand."  Please, this is simple and they know it.  THIS LAW HAS THE RAPE AND INCEST EXCEPTIONS THE VOTERS WANTED IN 2006

These folks are the masters of deception - anything to divert attention off the reality that they profit into the hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars each year from legal abortion. They don't want voters looking at that, so they are diverting attention to the fine print. The fine print is just fine.

Here's the verbiage voters will see on the ballot;

Title:
An Initiative to prohibit abortions except in cases where the mother’s life or health is at a substantial and irreversible risk, and in cases of reported rape and incest.

Attorney General Explanation:
Currently a woman may obtain an abortion during the first 24 weeks of pregnancy.  Beyond 24 weeks, abortions may be performed only if necessary to preserve the life or health of the woman.  Measure 11 would prohibit all abortions performed by medical procedures or substances administered to terminate a pregnancy, except for: abortions medically necessary to prevent death or the serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily organ or system of the woman and abortions to terminate a pregnancy of less than 20 weeks resulting from rape or incest reported to law enforcement.

When an abortion is performed as a result of reported rape or incest, the woman must consent to biological sampling from herself and the embryo or fetus for DNA testing by law enforcement.

Measure 11 would allow the provision of contraception substances prior to the time pregnancy can be determined by conventional medical testing, or assistance in obtaining abortions in states where the procedure is legal.

If approved, Measure 11 will likely be challenged in court and may be declared to be in violation of the United States Constitution.  The State may be required to pay attorneys fees and costs.

YES- A vote “Yes” will adopt the proposed law.

NO- A vote “No” will reject the proposed law.

The abortion industry is BIG business! Just like the CEO's of the big banks that we are being forced to bail out, planned parenthood is busy making false statements to protect their ill-gotten $$$. And the baby killers are making a LOT of $$$.

Most laws are hard for the layman to understand. Those of us who are pro life can easily understand that abortion is killing the most innocent and vulnerable among us. The baby killers can only understand that it might affect their ill-gotten $$$$. Life or $$$$? Which is really more important?
