The Pope is not a theologian and not a woman!!

Don't get mad at me for that headline. I'm just quoting Rev. Preston Brown, retired SD Methodist minister speaking on behalf of the Pastors for IMMoral Choices and the SD Campaign for UNHealthy Families. I'm not Catholic so I can't say, but I'd think saying that kind of thing is a great way to turn the entire Catholic population in our state against your cause. And just what is that cause… oh yes, killing unborn children.

The Rapid City Journal has the whole report here. Basically, a small group of retired SD clergy who make up the group "Pastors for IMMoral Choices" held a meeting in Rapid Thursday night. They showed a film called "Sacred Choices: 10 New Things to Think About." This film is junk and full of false fears, ideologically-charged information, fictitious facts and stats, lousy and liberal theology, distorted and selective history and faulty reasoning. The RCJ says;

A panel of three retired Protestant pastors and one lay church leader fielded questions from an audience of about 75 people who gathered Thursday to watch the hour-long film at the City/School Administration Center…. The local panel was the Rev. Preston Brown and the Rev. Lin Jennewein, both retired Methodist ministers, and the Rev. Howard "Skip" Smith, a retired Presbyterian minister, as well as one lay church leader, Jean Helmer.

Rapid City resident Cecelia Lang walked away from it saying the film "extremely misrepresented" her faith. She felt her faith was disrespected by the film and by comments from the panel after it. "I was offended by the comments by some on the panel that I felt ridiculed the church leadership and the pope," she said.

I encourage Catholics in SD to spread the word about how the SD Campaign for UNHealthy Families is now openly mocking the Pope.

The Rapid City Journal article says "The forum was the second of three sponsored by Democracy in Action exploring abortion. According to the group's Web site, the next forum, "Medical and Legal Ramifications of Initiated Measure 11," will be held Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Dakota Middle School.

Chris @ 9:55 pm

Way to go "christians"….let's cause more division and strife among the church, that always looks good and is inviting to the pagan and heathen…we say they need Jesus, but the Jesus they see is this?

Modern Christians are (I feel) the biggest detracting factor to why there are so many anti-christian people in the world today. If Christians would be more like Jesus, and less like religion…well…we wouldn't look like such fools (although scripture does teach us that the message of the gospel is foolishness to the perishing)….
