The Harbinger: Tom Daschle, 9/11 and an ancient Bible prophecy

Lots of buzz these days in some Christian circles about a bestselling new release book called The Harbinger. A number of folks have asked what I think of it, and so I decided to read it on a long plane ride yesterday.

South Dakota politico's might be interested to know that our very own Tom Daschle was featured as being one of several who unknowingly but very specifically fulfilled an ancient prophecy related to the attacks on September 11 and the economic crash seven years later. Very interesting stuff and if you are now gathering titles for your summer reading list I recommend it to you and welcome your comments.

Oh, Steve, really? I thought you had a better understanding of prophecy as truth-telling, not fortune-telling.

Steve Hickey @ 8:06 am

Had to Google Nibiru Larry. I'll keep an eye out for it.

Cory, someday we can chat about the nature of prophecy and how truth telling is only fraction of it. Prophecy aside, it is remarkable that Daschle and Edwards expressly quoted Isaiah 9:10 referring to our spirit of defiance post 9/11 while unknowingly to them the passage (note the verse before it) refers to nations that refuse to repent and stubbornly and rebelliously maintain a posture of continual defiance of God. Maybe that makes no sense to you. It'd mean more to you if you were to read the book. Assuming you won't I'll just say I thought it postworthy to draw attention to the former Majority Leader from our state and his role in a matter a number of Christians are talking about right now.

And a much larger number of Christians are laughing about it. I suppose you liked "Left Behind" too?

Steve Hickey @ 8:22 pm

How do you know lots of Christians are laughing at it Bishop? Have you read it? Do you enjoy laughing at what others believe? Sad. And no I have no regard for the Left Behind books.
