Wait, SD pro-aborts are running a commercial making pro-lifers out to be the ones who want babies dead
The Campaign for UNHealthy Families is kicking off their TV campaign today in South Dakota with the 30 second commercial below. Honestly, it would be powerful, IF IT WERE TRUE. But, it's not true at all. This lady would have been able to get medical care for herself and her twins during her pregnancy under IM11.
When this is all over, UNHealthy Families needs to be giving a prize for so AMAZINGLY twisting everything around. Down is up, wrong is right, black is white, dark is light.
Would you have ever thought those who profit from abortion would lead off with a commercial tapping into the heart strings of SD voters in a way that makes the pro-life people look like the ones who want babies to die?
This is unreal. Really. Talk about the masters of spin and illusion. Don't be decieved. These people are killers and they are exploiting a young couple and a difficult situation to divert attention off what they are really concerned about… aborting as many children as possible and leaving the women to sort it out alone. In 2006 they successfully diverted all the attention onto the 1% rape and incest situations. Now we have rape and incest exceptions in IM11 and they divert attention onto an even small percentage with a twin-to-twin transfusion situation. But, again, IM11 would NOT leave this young couple with two dead babies. This ad is false.

Apparently you know more about fetal medicine than the world renowed experts at the Texas Childrens Hospital Fetal Care Center - http://www.texaschildrens.org/carecenters/FetalSurgery/twin_twin_transfusion_syndrome.aspx Selective cord coagulation In some cases, a couple may make the difficult decision to proceed with the purposeful loss of one twin to save the other twin. This procedure is used when laser ablation of the connecting vessels is not possible or if one of the twins is so close to death that laser ablation would likely not be successful. By stopping the flow in the cord of the dying twin, the other twin can be protected from the consequences of its sibling’s death. The procedure is performed through the use of a special forceps that is placed into the amniotic sac of the recipient twin while watching with ultrasound. The umbilical cord is then grasped and electrical current is applied to burn (coagulate) the blood vessels in the cord so that the blood flow will stop to this fetus. The communication between the fetuses is definitively ended; however, this eliminates the chance of survival for one of the twins. Complications of this procedure include premature delivery and premature rupture of the membranes. Rupture of the membranes has been reported to occur in about 20 percent of cases. Survival of the one remaining fetus can be expected in 85 percent of cases. Illustration: Selective cord coagulation

Yep Ned and you are an expert as well working up there at Raven Industries dropping here on the blog what you found out there on Google.
Isn't Ned Flanders a character on the Simpsons? Wow. Thanks for your medical opinion here Ned. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ned_Flanders
The link I provided in this post refers people not to my opinion but to a statement written by specialists in this field who say attempts can be made to save both lives and if one dies that is tragic but not an abortion.

I think you need a new doctor and lawyer…or perhaps you should do some research yourself before rushing to judgment.
You really have no idea what you are talking about.
Steve @ 5:10 pm
Ned, I'm not rushing to judgment - IM11 is the product of lots of legal expertise combined with the best medical expertise available - that is who is behind those statements I've linked to - they aren't my doctors or lawyers. Go back to watching the Simpson's. Quit lecturing me on research and not knowing what I'm talking about. I'm done with you.
Ned Flanders @ 7:45 pm
At least acknowledge that your statement above is baseless…I though you were a man of God?

Please do some reading before you make any additional false statements…let me help you out.
Selective Feticide
This treatment involves causing the deliberate demise of one fetus, in the hope of providing a better chance to the other. This is not as callous as it sounds, as sometimes in severe cases it is considered as the only option to prevent the loss of both twins.
Then consider watching an episode of the Simpson…it may ease some of your hostility.
Stop the killing @ 10:06 pm
When I was doing the "Seige" monday morning there was a person who was yelling out his car window at me. The person in that commecial looked just like that person in the truck. I just can't help but think it is him.

Hidily Ho Neighbor - Ned Flanders is the ultra-conservative Christian neighbor of Homer & Marge Simpson. Ned Flanders would be ALL FOR IM11. Perhaps you're not understanding the Simpsons either.
Okily-dokily.

I think that the biggest issue at hand here is to say that Planned Parenthood and UNhealthy families are going to try and throw something out there no matter what type of exceptions are written into the measure. You see, the truth remains that TTTS happens in roughly 1 in 1000 pregnancies (quick wiki search) and the pro-abort side would like to focus on that very small, very rare situation than to allow people to realize the truth - that the vast majority of abortions are performed not because of medical "necessity" but because women want another form of birth control. It is sad. We have become so self absorbed that we are willing to kill other human beings because some consider them an inconvenience or as some put it a "punishment".
If this truly is such a big deal and TTTS has such a medical demand for it, then I'm sure they can do another task force and come up with more data and criteria explaining that there truly are no other options and then get an extra exception ammended to the bill once it has been passed into law.
But as for right now the big picture is that abortion on demand needs to come to an end.
